B-SPEC

As far as I know there haven't been any plans to bring B-spec mode back, but if they did there wouldn't be much use for it currently. If they added endurance races - which I think is likely - then it would make sense. All the news about GT Sophy debuting as a B-spec mode are just speculation at this point.

damn o hope they do bring it back. It was an easy way to make money if you needed a break from driving

Hopefully never, God I hate B-Spec :yuck:

Having said that, as long as it's not imperative for game completion % I guess I wouldn't care.
it was cool to relax sometimes and earn some easy money

That's true but I also just enjoyed the management aspect of it. I like the idea of RPG elements in Gran Turismo and that was a good addition.

If B-Spec does return then I hope they finally actually make it a worthwhile management feature. To quote some of my old posts

If B Spec is to return then like many aspects of the game it needs a big overhaul to be fun and engaging in the modern age.

The GT5 system was extremely basic and flew against logic. No racing driver needs to be issued with "go faster", "go slower", "overtake" commands from their race engineer, or otherwise crawl around the track. Likewise, it was very boring and unengaging for the player. I'd be amazed if anyone out there actually enjoyed that purely for what it was, rather than solely for the rewards.

If they want to do team and driver management they need to do it properly, with real depth. Let us manage the career of a driver in a realistic manner, getting them drives in teams, managing races in a realistic manner with strategy calls and so on.

Plus the ability to team up with them in longer races, of course.
3. A fully fleshed out, new racing management mode. Hire and manage personnel for your race team, hire drivers who go out and race in events and earn you money without you doing anything, so not B-Spec. Completely new. Bring in sponsorship, hire the right drivers, mechanics, designers to keep your team running. Get results or risk running out of money and losing.

B-Spec = AFK money farming. Since PD already nerfed all Afk methods, I doubt this is coming.

Yeah that's what I recall. Was good for grinding whilst doing other stuff.

Hope it does never appear, completely useless mode for me. It will make everything easier which I don't want.
Then don't use it if you don't want to.

PD does tend to be obsessive but I personally think a fully-fleshed management mode would be too much. It would be an entirely different game, and probably could be an entirely different game like Motorsport Manager. Problem is, I think such a thing would be so distracting from the issues already at hand that it would guarantee PD gets nothing done in a timely manner.

The B-Spec that I desire is basically a hands-off time saver like @Bonker mentioned. I remember back in GT4 literally doing high school homework while Bob was doing his thing and every 5-10 minutes I would glance over and see if he needed a pit stop or not. I would take afternoon power naps while he was driving lol. Especially as an adult - the past couple years being the exception - I've got less time than ever to devote to more intricate games or game modes but something that actually helps me game while doing real-life tasks is right up my alley.

Honestly if they debuted a standalone B-Spec game, I probably wouldn't buy it. If they added a fully-fleshed management mode to GT7 it might keep me occupied for a couple weeks like Motorsport Manager did but that's about it. I just want a GT4-style Bob that can do my bidding while I'm eating dinner, with some added personalization. A crew to run the 24 Hours of Daytona for me while I sleep before I trade places with Bob on Saturday morning. Race team idea good, Motorsport Manager idea bad.

I'd like it if we could level it up, seems like a Sophy method that could get it into the game sooner rather than later, be a driving partner for endurance racing and go on to become a defacto AI opponent to improve solo play as we.

Well that's what I'm saying, nobody played the old B Spec mode because it was fun and engaging in its own right, they did it to passively earn credits.

So why not actually turn it into something that is both? It doesn't have to be insanely deep like a full standalone management game, just more engaging than three buttons or even none.

I’d like it for the Custom Race aspect of just watching races. Yes, it’s a good break from actual driving and whatever Missions/Events stem from this mode. The option to set up races and watch how they play out, is pretty much why I like real racing. It’s interesting to watch what the AI get up to 8n a live race and not always waiting til the replay.

Many races, I hang at the back and let the AI have at.

I hope the B-Spec mode will come with 24h races. I am not going to drive them myself, especially when there is no option to save the game during the race.

I liked this mode in previous GT games, but I always had higher expectations for this mode. It should have team management not only on the track but also off the track if you know what I mean. This mode has great potential to be a Racing Manager, but it was never really fulfilled. If not now, then when? They can use the Sophy AI at this point.

I know a lot of players used B-Spec to farm credits. I liked it for tuning cars - took the human factor out of it (my lack of consistent game play). I also remember a post from a player with physical challenges that could enjoy the game without doing any racing themselves - which I thought was awesome - made some really great tunes. I would welcome it back - sometimes it was just fun to watch and learn.

Id like to see it return but fleshed out more like Motorsport Manager. Bonus if they do a really solid mobile companion app. Ill echo the sentiment to making it completely optional for those that are not interested but it is certainly something I would like to see return.
