Well.. I went to try the copy save game > trade car back

but.... it doesnt work anymore... now, if u want a card of another memory card, u have to pay for it.. about 3 times what u can sell it for... (ie. my $1500+ FC cost over $5000)

a good thing for your friend (if u just want to buy his car) is that he doesnt lose his car, it just copies... but, they also dont get any cash too...

i'm sure someone will work out a cash cheat eventually...

Lol, it only made sense for Polyphony Digital to do something like that, don't tell me you were expecting it to still work, were you?

huh?

(I've read this post 4 times and don't follow it at all. I remember the "trick" from GT3, but if you bought a car you paid the full dealer value, regardless)

In GT3 (and maybe previous releases) you could save your garage onto another memory card and copy them back over to the original memory card, and sell the copied cars. You would then end up with lots of cash. If I remember correctly, that's how the procedure was done, correct me if I'm missing anything. PD seems to have eliminated that "bug" in GT4 👍

I never knew that. 3 years of playing GT3 and I learned something. I always used the MKS garage editor if I needed a car or just ran some of the Am League races for $$$.

Ok, so you can "copy" a car for a certain fee, but it'll still be cheaper than buying it at the dealer? Or would 3 times the cost bring up close to retail value?

Also, whats the garage limit?

Sorry, I'm new here.

garage limit is 1000 cars

who nees cheat...
money is so easy to make in this game... just fire up B-Spec mode and keep winning race

I'm a collector, what can I say? (Collecting needs money...) Most of the cars will just be there to owned and not driven.

GT3 wasn't really hard to make credits in, it just took a long time, especially early on in the game. It looks as if GT4 is structured more like GT2. GT2 was easy to make credits in, even early on. There were never a problem in GT2, especially after 20% of the game being done.

I had no idea the credit scam worked either. I know about the "buy a cheap car and soup it to nuts, then sell if for the original dealer price to a friend" scam. But this is new to me. BTW, can you still do the "buy a cheap car and soup it to nuts, then sell if for the original dealer price" scam?

I'm just curious, but why the heck would you want to cheat anyways? So you can get a few good cars? Please, play the game, as all games are, as intended.

I never thought about it till now but I hope the game is geared so by the time we beat the game, there will be enough money to buy alot of cars and hook them up, fully. For anyone who played sega gt 2002, you know how that game f@cked up. The game ended so quick and you only had a couple of cars with no money to tune them. Maybe thats why it's so much easier to make money, I suppose.

I know what you mean, that kind of happened to me in GT3 in which I only had like 2,000,000 credits near the end (until I found out about the money cheat). I try not to cheat in games until I've beaten or close to beaten them.

I remember in GT2 if you wanted to trade a car you would have to pay FULL price for it - so for that nice Skyline worth 30 000 Credits normally with an added turbo charger, racing slicks and intercooler you'd have to pay the 30 000 PLUS the price of all the modificatios.

Mind you, I never had anyone to trade with. Where I played GT2 my brother preferred Crash Team Racing.

...but can't you go back and run some of the series again after you reach 100%? I don't know, because I gave up after 99%. (Stupid time trials. :grumpy: )

regarding running the series again.. if u go to race a race in a series you have already won completely (got the prize car) it will give u two options, reset or dont reset (my best translation from chinese).. if u dont reset, u can re-race and still get the cash... but if u reset, it gets harder but once u beat all (all the races in the series will reset) u can get the prize car again

On the topic of cheating, have you tried the 'reverse gear change trick'? If this still works it could create some problems with playing online :indiff:

Pff, you can already get 10.000.000 creds from your old GT saves :D And of course there will be credit cheats. Just doesn't sound like you really need it in GT4.

Guess it depends how many of those huge bucks cars you want.
And i Guess tuning all those cars is going to get quite expensive.

P.S any news yet on the need to renew chassis?

no it doesnt work, u cannot switch to reverse unless ur car is at a dead stop now

i dunno if u really need to cheat

B-Spec mode + a Mine's R34 GTR can yield me 40 million every 15 minutes

always broke ej? haha hope it's quite a bit more difficult to buy cars and car-parts, i'm tired of having all those millions and a full garage, makes it more challenging.

What about when you're spinning? Can you shift into reverse on the fly in that situation?

I hate using cheats as all the fun is completing a game all by yourself, not with cheats.

Then don't use cheats, it's as simple as that. For SOME people the fun of the game isn't completeing it 100% by yourself, it's taking a sample of every car they'd ever want to drive and doing whatever...like me...I like to do money cheats so I can get wahtever car I want and not have to do races I don't want to.

cheating in games may not be your cup-o-tea, but other people like it, so don't sit and tell everyone how to play their game.

Definetly I cannot stand players who are like hmm.. oh this cheat is cool it lets you unlock all cars, all tracks, and you get $99,999,999,99 dollars that's so cool!

Talk about RUINING ALL THE CHALLENGE AND PURPOSE!! :yuck:
