can we use the ballast tuning option to create downforce for cars?
I think we can!!

ballast, power limiter and the gears add another element

Not necessarily the same thing as downforce, it's just more sprung weight on the car. Good for changing weight distribution I suppose.

Ballast Positioning... positioning in relation to what, which way is it... front/back, up/down... more win for vague GT tuning features... thanks Kaz. :ouch:

Edit: Nevermind, it's pretty easy to use, see my tuning thread for a demo tune with RUF CTR "Yellowbird" '87 tuned with 85KG ballast.

I'm curious as to where the ballast goes when using minus(-) or plus(+) figures.

Which one is front and which one is for the back?I've seen it in previous GT games but i never used it.

-50 is all the way forward, +50 is all the way to rear

Ballast tuning is really interesting and awesome. I'm super happy to be playing with this in my cars. Gone 1 second faster at Indy road by stripping weight from the stock McLaren and putting it back in at the rear to weigh down the rear tyres. Definitely not good for harsher tracks though. What's best is it's basically 100% about preference or track-type.

Generally speaking...toward the front, understeer...toward the back, oversteer.
Is that correct?
Is there a guide for this?

In general, FR and FF cars will need more weight in the back while RR cars need more weight in the front. Ultimately, the goal is to achieve a 50/50 Front/Rear weight distribution. Be aware that suspension setting will need to be changed when you move the weight around.

You cannot add downforce but you can use ballast trying to help turn in a particular car, and this is what you mean I think, i.e. Ferrari 430 Scuderia, a great car but if you want it to be competitive against a heavly tuned SuperGT GT500 beast you need to try add some weight somewhere and see what happen, a race car always take advantage vs. a tuned car because of proper race parts and much more downforce available, so if someone find a way to help turn in further more (considering the car's performances already been maximized by setup and tuning) that could be useful.
