I was tempted to review this against CS: Source as I have both, but decided uintil I get the full BF2 review.

BF2 Demo...Ah, where do I start?

Graphics: 5/5
Astounding and beautiful graphics. The detail into Gulf of Oman 16 and 32 is beautiful. From the buildings to the vehicles to the ocean and water. Wondefully created landscapes give this a 4 out of 5 stars for Graphics. Some things though, are still pixely up close, but since this is a demo, I won't think much into it.

Sound: 5/5
Gorgeous sound quality. From launching your Assualt's 2nd attack with slow phoosh sound to the heavy breathing of your soldier after a long sprint, to go along with wonderfully created footsteps. The vehicles all have their own little sound and are redone beautifully from the afterburners of raging jet or vertical take off to the tank running along the desert. The explosions are also great.

Landscape/Enviroment: 5/5
Beautiful. I'm putting this differently, as I wanted to review the landscapes in design. Wonderful designs.Traveling through the small city and such is great to see it.

Gameplay: 5/5
Awesome gameplay with some objectives that seem easy, but are quite hard. The ticket feature is a cool little thing to see. And capturing the points provide some of the greatest intense firefights. There's so much to explore and fight in.
The dog fights from jets and bombing of areas really shows war. And making objectives for yourself such as destroying enemy artillery or using an engineer to restore your own is new to me.

Weapons/Positions: 5/5
Every position has been extremely well. With each gun having its own ups and downs means finding the best situation to take advantage of the weapon. Your Assualt provides some nice devistations and with 2nd attack, can clear out enemies fast. The missles from jets and helicopters are also great. And even the carriers AA gun along with the Anti-Tank are great for getting rid of annoying enemy vehicles. As for positions, when a team seperates and each using a combination of these weapons, they can easily take down enemy forces. From using a medic to restore fallen solidiers to using a Support to cover Assualt vehicles and supplying them. When used properly and in combination, any side can be an unstoppable force. Learning to use these positions/weapons in combos with your squad and where each weapon can devistate an entire area will give you the advantage.

AI: 5/5
1 word: Veteran. Even the hardcore FPS gamers may have to take some time getting adjusted to Veteran (Intermediate). The AI uses all sorts of tactics on you, and knows the ups and downs of their situation, but then again, so does your team. The AI can be extremely smart when stepping up from a New Soldier position. And when you think you got 'em beat, they get you. They get you hard.

Controls: 5/5
This will be seperated into 4 parts.
Boats: 5 out of 5
They are easy to control and with your team, you can really put out some damage on some aircraft.
Land: 5 out of 5
Vehicles are easy to control after a few minutes, and alot of vehicles, like guns, have ups and downs. Tanks can punish Humvees and AAV vehicles, but in the open, can be obliterated by falling jet bombs. Great selection as well!
Aircraft: 4 out of 5.
They take a good amount of time to conquer and master. Helicopters tend to be tail happy, and it takes some time to control their turning. Then comes finding time to blow up enemies. Jets are also a bit tougher. And have a quick response. Fighting with them even takes some time, but they can really pull off evassive manevours after mastering.
On-Foot: Basic controls (w,a,s,d), and very helpful controls. From laying down, to sprinting and more to help fight off the enemy. Excellent control as well.

Overall: 5 out 5
And this is a demo. I haven't even experienced the full retail. And there's even an Expansion coming. With maps allowing 64 Max, and 30+ vehicles, this game is everything you'd want out of a more detailed Counter-Strike.
It takes some time to adjust to, but its a guaranteed blood-pumping experience.

Expect the Full Verision Review very soon.

NOTE: I didn't review Online, as imo, that's based on what the player thinks.
But I love it.

The AI is exceptionally good in comparison to previous BF games.

I've actually had a few laugh out in surprise moments (that before you only got online) playing against the computer. Such as this one time at band camp i was sprinting down a road and an AI controlled player decided to charge after me down the road, flying really low in a chopper firing rockets with gusto.

The rest is all good, but the AI was a suprise.

I absolutely love the demo. I play it on my uncle's comp all the time and I'd have had the real game long ago if it wasn't for my computer.

But, please, McLaren...can you put your ratings in NUMERIC form. it makes life SO much easier.

I'll do a short review of a full online experience, as my cous. let me on his game.

Online....: Depends on you.
And it really does. IMO, it truely depends on who you play with and against. My 1st game had been bad. My team was mostly idiots who ran off on their own, and were killed easily by the US' teamwork. It was a quite a thought how my Chinese teammates even managed to capture most of the flags. After 3 TKs on me by the same dude, 2 not accidental, and that's how I play. You get 3 chances with me. 4th time, and you're punished. But after I did, he called me a "gay fag."
I told him why I did, and he said "I was a stupid jew" and initated a kick. 6 out 18 votes didn't get me but he did it again. Finally, a US guy stepped in, and told me to come to the US side.

That's where the 2nd game got good. Wonderful team work by the guys who part of the server's clan. It wasn't too long before the Chinese team did the same crap again, and once more, the same dude, wanted some other guy gone after he'd been punished. The TKer was finally booted but there was still idiots.
US once again won due to bad teamwork for the other squad.

Online really depends on teamwork for this game.

So I am still not going to give online a score as it will truely depend on who you play with.

It's the same on CS though. Once people start arguing it just turns pathetic.

All of my online experiences have been awesome so far. Been doing things like being gunner on an attack chopper and spending most of the game chipping around working well with the pilot. It is important to get into a squad and request orders (hold t) a lot if you chose to go infantry to get the most out of it online. But even if you go it alone, it's still mighty fun imo.

I usually join a squad and wait for orders. That's how I usually live life. Give me an order, and I'll set out and do it.
All in all, I do prefer some of the CS custom maps and such online to BF2.

pshh. I'm totally a long ranger in BF2. i just get my semi-automatic sniper rifle and go snooping around. I've been like the top killing guy in all the games i've played during the Gulf of Oman demo.
