He...hello? o... o...

Forza Horizon 3 10_14_2017 8_33_35 AM.png

Wasn't that thrilled with this one, it's a big german sedan that goes plenty fast. Unfortunately those are dime a dozen, even in this game. Get the Lotus Carlton, it's faster and more lively. And better looking. :sly:

Good timing actually as I’m about to go after your time. :sly:

But also because of this, The Time Trial for the M5 will continue till Midnight on Thursday to offset the late announcement of it, BUT I’ll be announcing this weeks car at the usual time. ;)

I at least managed to get under 1:10. Exceptionally stable and powerful car. I don't normally enjoy this particular course, but the M5 was a joy to push around. Sleeper.

Ok time for another intervention as I was unable to find a winner without getting repetitive. :/

But yes the M5 was a great machine, handled good, great braking and acceleration, everything you expect from the defacto king of the 4 door sports saloons. :)

Verdict: Sleeper 👍

So what’s this weeks choice? It’s quite the oddball.

378CFB45-5427-4E41-85CC-5A1FDB244487.jpeg

It’s The 2011 Ford Transit SuperSportVan!!!

We’re going Diesel for this one folks, a 3.2 litre Inline 5 Turbo Diesel making pretty much 200hp and near enough 350ft-lbs of torque. :P

Stretch it’s legs this week when you run the Coober Pedy Airstrip Charge Street Race in this weeks Time Trial.

Don’t forgot, The M5 Time Trial ends on Thursday at Midnight due to it being announced late so don’t ditch that car just yet.

Also consider getting started on your picks for Beater of the Year and Sleeper of the Year as we are 1 month from week 52, plus any other awards you like me to include, PM your choices and your own awards to me, be creative in your awards, best of luck. 👍

Finally, Congratulations @Obelisk as the thread itself turned 1 year old yesterday  :D

You're a wizard sir, could not even get close on this one. :boggled:

Where do we find these awards? A quick search in the GT6 section turned up nothing I'm afraid.

It’s more like you vote for what you believe is the beater and sleeper of the year, it can be any car you feel is worthy of such title.

Basically you all send your votes to me, I tally them up and I announce them on week 52, plus any other awards you like me to include like for example, The Predator award for ‘ugliest front on a car’.

Be creative. 👍

So the Standings for the M5 Time Trial are as follows.

1st: Vic Reigns
2nd: Drex124
3rd: Populuxe Cowboy

I’ll hopefully not forget to set a time for the Transit this weekend. :D

Thanks for the reminder to post this, was gonna leave it till tomorrow (or later today given the time over here.:P) but then thought, Nah get it done with.

YAAaaawnnn.... I need to stop doing these around midnight....

Forza Horizon 3 10_23_2017 11_57_48 PM.png

It's a van, which drives like a car... a slow car.... like base trim Twingo slow. It handles like nothing else but all I keep thinking is why not follow the example of first Supervan and just rescue a V8 from a Ford GT. It's a one-off built, why not go crazy?

Verdict: Neutral because of the potential, both wasted and still present because of the possible Forza craziness.

So here are the standings from this week.

1st: Vic Reigns
2nd @Drex124
3rd @Obelisk

Also my verdict was lost in Transit for awhile, but its been found and it’s a Beater, not chronically bad, but also not average either. :P

Anyways...

Congratulations @Obelisk!!!

You had the floor for this weeks pick and you picked...

CD061EE7-3F02-42C1-A58D-1DAA918F82D9.png

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon!!

The quintessential American Off-roader with a 3.6 V6 making 285hp which is sent to all 4 wheels via a 6 speed gearbox.

A proven off roader needs a challenging route for it to tackle so this weeks battle will be in Byron Bay on the Waters Way Cross Country route.

Tear through the Rainforest and try not to drown your Jeep in the numerous water hazards this route has. :D

If an athiest can be allowed to quote the Bible: "So the last will be first, and the first will be last." I am first to post a time, and sure to be last in the standings. I'm impressed with this Jeep. That 285hp V-6 is stout. I'm also impressed with how well planted it is. I keep thinking "This is it! It's going over!" but it never does. Amazing what modern suspension can do for this old stalwart. Sleeper.

Allow me to throw my hat into the ring. :D

EE7E97C4-AAD4-4C52-B277-0EF999B6D615.jpeg

It’s a nice base for a more hardcore offroader build, but even in stock form it’s a decent machine.

Gearing is abit on the long side as I only needed 5th on the fast downhill run to the beach and was nowhere needing 6th gear.

But aside from that, I can’t fault it much.

Verdict: Sleeper 👍

Not much extra activity for the Wrangler then by the looks of it.

Let’s see if the next car is any better. :)

Congratulations @FastBud!!!

I was expecting you to snipe me on this weeks trial, but maybe with the car you picked for this week we can put on another clinic of a battle.

You ended up picking the most obvious one of the lot, I’m surprised we got this far without picking it...

039BC8AB-5E4D-4365-8023-805ACBED0757.png

It’s the 2016 Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4!!!

Yep, we finally gone and picked the cover car of Horizon 3 in all its V12 glory.

Being the most powerful car in the game fully upgraded, Speed is this cars close companion. :P

And the track this week is also very speedy as it’s the Coalcliff Drag Street Race, nearly 7 miles of flat out driving with only a brief pause to line up for the run to the finish line.

Hold your nerve as you ramp up to over 170+mph along the coastal road to take victory this week. 👍

Just mark me down as a DNF. I've tried too many times to run this race without incurring a penalty and I just can't do it without slowing down so much I might as well be in a stock Gremlin.

I’ve had some bad server luck in trying to get a time in to start with.

Both times I’ve tried to start the event it just goes “Server unavailable, please try again later”.

Hopefully 3rd times the charm. :)

And the 3rd time IS the charm. :D

If you’re wondering how I did the 2 min run, two words, Koenigsegg Regera. ;)

As Forza cover cars go, it’s easily one of, if not the fastest of the lot and quite easy to drive when you adapt to its high speed handling.

Throw on Don Joewon Song’s X class tune and it’s practically glued to the road even at 250+ mph. :P

Verdict: Sleeper 👍

So admittedly not the greatest turn out ever, but eh, could be worse. :P

In any case...

Congratulations @Drex124!!!

What’s this weeks pick that’ll drag us back to normal speeds again?

It is in fact..

91129E35-E4A1-4127-BA3D-C8D44C7D17EC.png

The 1979 Opel Kadett C GT/E!!!

With a modest 2.0 4 cylinder making 114hp that’s pushing just over 900kgs of car, what it lacks in muscle is offset by being an eager handling car with close gearing to keep that engine singing. :)

This week we’re heading to the Mountain View Scramble in Yarra Valley, a mixed surface track with enough bumps to unsettle nervous cars or drivers.

This car won’t be nervous, will you?? ;)

Also reminder folks, week 52 is next week so if you got any awards you want me to present to the winning/losing cars and your votes for which car you think is Beater of the year and Sleeper of the year, now’s the time to PM them to me so I can get it all somewhat sorted out. 👍

Don’t leave it too late folks. :P

Belated post
Seeing as it was my pick thought I would do a few runs on this track ended up top 25 (not in the centenario) will try and not play COD to much this week lol

I love small RWD cars. Toyota Corolla TE27, Datsun 510, Mazda RX-3, Fiat 131, AMC Gremlin, even the Ford Pinto from FM3 and FM4. They're so fun and so easy to modify and make even more fun. The Kadett is that rarest of all things, a GM worldwide chassis for subcompact RWD appications. It was used by Opel, Vauxhall, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Holden and Isuzu. The only downside to the Kadett is that the tires don't really suit the dirt portion of this race course, and the engine would benefit from an extra 30 horsepower (but then again, what car wouldn't?) Sleeper.

Here’s my time for the Kadett and here’s my reminder for you guys, So @Populuxe Cowboy @Obelisk @Drex124 and @FastBud here it is.

I need your votes for your Beater of the year and Sleeper of the year before this Time Trail ends at the usual time so I can get it all lined out, because I don’t want to be the guy who decides both winners due to being the only one who voted. :indiff:

So pretty please with sugar on top, don’t leave it too late and send them to me via PM 👍
