I think it would be better if you don't have the car for a link to the correct one in brand central then? As you say it may be a wrong version you get

I can't find Race B car in brand central. It's a Lancer, doesn't seem to be the manufacturer my brand central?

Some cars are only available through the Mileage exchange. as @VFOURMAX1 said:

It will comeback around but it may be a couple of months down the road and at times the Daily race could require the mileage exchange car and nothing else will substitute.

I think it's only gr3 & grB road cars, and safety cars in the milage exchange. For the moment they're the only ones to watch out for. Safety cars are yet to feature in sport mode, afaik.
