Best car for Le Mans 30 minute 700 race?

So far I have been beating this race fairly easily in the Genesis G70 Gr.4 with minor adjustments. However, are there any other cars that are any better to do this race in? I was thinking maybe of getting the Toyota Supra GT500 97 but is it actually worth it if I already have a car that I can comfortably win the race with? Would the difference be noticeable or fairly similar? 1.8 mil is a lot to spend simply for a few seconds of time difference.

I agree 100%,i can get just short of 10 laps of fuel and i can do the race on one set of hards,so its easy to get a no stopper with this car and at least a two min lead on the following car.I have had 211mph out of it down Mulsanne. Its now my go to car for Le Mans.I do hope we will get more open wheel cars of this era, there are so many brilliant cars of that time.Previously i was using the Ferrari 330 P4 which is also worth racing. If you want a challenge try the Aston DB3s.
On fuel 6?

Can I get the full setup please to make sure I’m doing it right?
This is my tune for the RA272, lightly modified from stock, added ballast and have it fwd for balance, RM & RH tyres work well and will have to use Wets when it rains. 186ad75c00754-3fa315B375F96579043.7F0DCD06C091CCF5_message_429554530086276_1677947383149.jpg
Edit: Use fuel map 6 at the start, you can run entirely on one tank of fuel, only will need to put to change tyres.

There is no need for any weight added at all, my tune for it is totally stable under braking,i have refined this tune and will post it over this weekend once i fully test it.
Forgive me but I am a controller user and had set this up to my driving style/ skills...

RA272 is great on RH with high Turbo you can go without refuel with FM3 from start

some videos suggested running IM tyres but the car is sliding around too much in dry high speed braking

-----
another car is that a joy to drive is the Alpine VGT the non GR1 version
sounds great , it can go without refuel on FM6

Sorry if i sounded a bit huffy,i also use a controller,i have just posted my latest tune for the car.Just very short vid of the car under heavy braking fron high speed showing just how stable it is.

Tried a few different options since my original reply (suggestions here), I still believe this Alfa is pretty unbeatable whilst remaining fun to drive, with the exception of maybe something like the F1 Honda (not tried it as I don't want to waste 2million on a car I am not interested in), I can probably do the race faster if I really tried as well tbh ?

Easily winning by 90 - 120 seconds every time, with one pit stop, which is fine for just raking in the money to buy stuff I want.

Please accept my apologies also I tend to get huffy also, will definitely look at your setup and practice with it too this car overall is great for.

P.s. you do have some great classic tunes in your garage.

The best thing is not to drive just 1 car at Le Mans or any of the 4 high payout races. Try many cars to keep some variation in your grind.
Almost any car > 650pp or > 400 bhp can win Le Mans. Try to find a couple you enjoy so you don't get bored. I like the Silvia Gr.4 with medium turbo.

Yes, and lower to easy and try out all kinds of cars.

No real incentive to use higher difficulties and just stick with rsce cars imo.

The rate the used car dealership and auction house is updating I might see that can in another 12 months maybe ??
If that's a reference to the 917LL, you're thinking of the wrong 917... The Living Legend version is available in Brand Central, without an invite. The 917 K is the classic race car at the Legend Car Dealership...

I do like to use the Gr.4 cars mostly. It doesn't feel like cheating and the fews i have, like Supra, Gr86, Mustang, Hyundai where still pretty easy wins on hard difficulty.

GTAm Le Mans Spec 1.jpg
GTAm Le Mans spec 2.jpg
I have been using the Alfa Giulia GTAm upgraded to 700pp , start the race on inters , set the power to around 510bhp and weight to around 1250kg , gear it to around 330kmh and lift and coast, set to fuel 6 and lift and coast in the braking zones, easy money when you need it. No tyre swaps needed, 1 maybe 2 fuel stops depending how your coasting goes :)

I can get you the proper spec if it helps ?

Interesting. Exactly the same car, but very different approach. I go for more power and Hard tyres. First lap is on fuel mix 1, fly round and end the lap hopefully 2-4 secs ahead of everything. Pit, just fuel, you'll re-join about 28-30 secs off the lead, anywhere between 17th and last depending on what mood the AIs are in. Lap 2 on fuel mix 3, lap 3 on 6. Pit. If it's already wet or about to be, go for Inters (you only need full Wets if it's torrential). If it's dry, I think you can do the next two laps on mix 5. If it's wet, fuel 6 for lap 4 is still plenty fast enough to beat the AIs and leaves you fuel for a faster lap 5 (on mix 3) it's drying by then. Pit. If it's drying out, back to Hard, if it's still wet, Inters. If it's been really wet you might not even need to change, just leave the Inters you already have. Lap 6 at 6 leaves you fuel for the last lap on mix 3, which should get you round in a nice satisfying lap record, usually around 4'10" or sometimes quicker.

There are cars that will do it with only one stop, but I prefer the challenge of three! Just because I'm grinding for the credits, doesn't mean it shouldn't be fun.

I wonder who has had the most efficient race time? I see a 31:49 in this thread which is pretty good.

Anyone done it in 6 laps?

I like to use a Gr.3 on inters with a touch of ballast

I have done it many times. If the rain screws up the AI and I am able to get a huge lead, I am able to stop just short of the finish line at the end of lap 6 and cross it when the timer hits 30 minutes. This is on easy difficulty with many different cars.
Since I use this as a grinding race, it has been a long time since I used hard difficulty so 6 laps might not be possible.

Strictly limited to running the Giulia that posted that 31:49, or for any car?

Using any Gr.B car here it’s not uncommon to finish under 30:01 in 6 laps. You’re only limited by your reaction time once the clock runs out because you’re sitting there waiting for all zeros so you can cross the line and end the race. I’ve finished in 30:000.xxx myself countless times running Gr.B here.
If the race is completely dry it’s not likely to do this as the AI won’t allow enough gap for that, but with moderate rain you can adjust torque to 50:50 and TCS up to 5 if needed to stay on RH the entire race and only pit once for fuel while the AI is busy sliding off track, trying to get traction and having to pit multiple times for tires and fuel. You can even stay out in heavy rain on RH the entire race if you‘re good with the throttle so you don’t break loose when accelerating.

I meant any car, but ok seems more common than I thought

I guess huffiness comes with advanced years, being 63 is my excuse LOL.I tend only to use the older cars in the game as in my mind they require more skill to drive them competitivly.I just wish there were a lot more of the older cars in the game,BRMs,ERAs,Ferrari Sharknose,Vanwalls,Lotus 25.and even cars in the Golden era between the Wars. The Honda is an awesome car for its years in the time were cars were driven by the Driver rather than a bunch of computers.Just for giggles i tuned the Citroen DS Pallas the other night. It does lack top end speed but as for road holding i was VERY suprised at just how good it was in the Corners.

Im 59 myself, and like you my garage is stocked with the older cars and wishing they would import more, grew up with slot cars imagining it was Le Mans and now this is way better than the slots with less imagining...

We should have an online tussle sometime, be fun :)

Same here...the DS is a little slow when it comes to topspeed, but really quick, agile and cotrollable around the corners-I was very positivly supprised about that!
