But Skip Barber gives advice in the manual ;)

And if it works, it works. Thats my philosphy on tuning :D

Absolutely right - and that's what caused the disintegration of Racing Line. One driver's settings which, to the "real world expert", were almost totally without logic worked for everyone that tried them.

Darn Mini is a ....masterpiece to...masterpiece :ill:
I just tried it at Pro FF Cote D'azur, against the "dreaded Bug in a cup car)
Using the above suggested settings....
I quilified 3rd @ 1'15.4..
Finished 2nd @
The BUG's time.: 19'06.265
Mini poop Scooper +22.865<<<<<<<<<<
TRD Sports M(J)..: +41.057
FTO GP version R: +1'18.190
Coupe Turbo Plus+1'26.702
Accord Euro-R(J): +1'36.924
I need more practice, that's like...-2 seconds less x lap practice and no time to stop for ice cream :yuck:

Use the Accord Type R. Best handling FWD I have driven. (was it because I had the rear springs harder than the front ). Beat the AI VW Beetle cup car by + 30 seconds at the Cote.

oh no, i've already done the race, with the Integra R, Accord R, VW Cup Car, Alfa Romeo 164, FTO GP, Demio, Coupe Turbo Plus, all with a great finish, but, i was just trying out the Mini sCooper, it's like... chasing a mule with a ..donkey? :ill:

I'm not the greatest driver in the world, but I'm getting better. Cote d'Azur was the thorn in my side here, and I finally came to the conclusion that it's all in the gear ratios when it comes to this course. Using my red Integra Type R 98, I finally got it. Qualified for the pole and ended up winning by +22.45 over the Celica TRD.
1st: 4.022
2nd: 3.200
3rd: 2.331
4th: 1.902
5th: 1.617
6th: 1.292
Final: 3.000
Auto: 15

I also used T2's in the front and T7's in the rear. Worked for me.

Did the races with the Vitz 1.5 RS, even beat the Beetle cup car by over a 1/4 of a minute when it was on teh field..

I've won it with the Accord Type-R sedan. It's a well balanced car, just soften up the front stabilizer a little to reduce understeer. It's a little bit heavy, but if you learned the tracks well, you can maintain your speed.

Driving slow cars in GT3 seems to be basically about being smooth, keeping momentum, and changing gears at the right time. For me they just aren't as fun.

off topic i know i know..

im disagreeing to that. i think that driving slow cars is fun. thinking about it closer, (just my opinion) they are way harder to drive than faster cars. becouse you dont have any changes to make a mistake. well, you do but its way harder to fix the mistake with a slower car than a fast car.

With that I completely agree, driving a slower car in many situations helps you become a better driver, just becoming a smoother driver alone can help lap times pretty dramatically.

Well, yeah. You notice it alot more when you screw up a little in a slow car, cause it takes longer to get the lost speed back. In a powerful car... you can just use the cars power to recover, making it harder to pick up on flaws in the driving...

i used one of my favorite cars the Celica with these settings and i beat the crap out of the Spoon honda with 40 seconds on all 3 races with a pit stop on lap 5.

Fully tuned with T5 tires

Spring Rate 15.0/14.0
Ride Height 95/95
Damper bound 5/5
Damper Rebound 8/8
Camber Angle 4.5/2.5
Toe Angle 0/0
Stabiliser 4/4
Brake 11/9
LSD Initial 33/0
LSD Acceleration 33/0
LSD Decrease 33/0
Gear Ratio:
1 : 2.569
2 : 1.582
3 : 1.095
4 : 0.792
5 : 0.610
6 : 0.466
Final : 3.995
AUTO setting : lvl 42
ASM: 5
TCS: 5

i have competed most of the game w/ all gold but i am having problems w/ the professional ff race....what car do you reccomend & if i have to win it ...what race can i do it in?

I tweaked out the Honda del Sol I won earlier in the game. With a lower suspension, stiffer ride, spread out the gears; it was a great run, close but very fun. I have also used the TRD Celica with max mods and no adjustment, and waxed the competition. With the TRD I had not really gotten into adjustments. It was my first rodeo.

Try these:

The Super Soft tires won't last, of course, so just put the softest ones you can get away with for the event on the front, with much harder ones on the rear.

It's been a while, but I think I used the Beetle for this event. Any of the above should do it for you, though.

(BTW, I've been reading that some say GT3 chassis setups won't work the same in GT4. We'll see, I guess...)

I just ran the Pro FF Monaco race in a full-build Mini Cooper. Pushing 172hp through T3 tires up front and T2s out back, I got a 16.high" margin on the TRD Celica without qualifying. Fast lap was 1':54.442" and I took the lead for good at the Swimming Pool on lap 4, though I had gotten as high as 2nd place by lap 2 before falling back after a collision at the switchbacks.

It was fun, but I want to see if I can do it with less power.

just did the pro FF cote d azur, and rome circuit with a 330 hp Acura Integra Type R (fully modded except with NA tune stage 2 instead of turbo stage 2, and with Super Slick Tires, i hate pitting). is it just me, or is FF pro a piece of cake? on cote d azur, i was up by at least 20 secs even before the cars started pitting... either it seemed easy because i ran the amateur FF on supersoft tires, or i've gotten freakishly better having golded all the B through IA licenses =P

now that i'm down to the last race of the 3 for Pro FF Series, should i go for the White or Yellow Spoon Civic Type R? Because i can only get one and i'm willing to rerace Deep Forest II if i don't get the color i decide to get.

Man, its February 20th already. My slow @$$ just got the IA license last night when GT4 is going to be released in 2 days. I wonder if anyone will still be playing GT3 or talking about it like me... i don't plan to get GT4 until it goes on Greatest Hits and all the crazy people have written up nice gamefaqs of the prize car colors =).

i ended up getting the Championship White Spoon Civic Type R. now that i got white and saved, i kinda wish i had gotten the yellow one, it looks kinda bland. but i guess it matches my Shigeno AE86. They both look like skunks, white bodies with black carbon fiber hoods :dopey: .

i just bought a civic EK,j. which is a pretty big deal for me, i usually dont meddle with ff cars. but for some reason at the moment im facinated with the ff technique, and like trying to keep a little weight up front threw corners without slowing to much then accelerating at the right time. Usually im a straight up drifter, i only race to earn money, but the idea of not being able to tilt your car into the corner and drift around the apex, and dealing with alot of understeer seems like a real challenge. um the reason i brought up drifting is cos i only really know how to tune a fr drift car. and even thats rather limited, so yeh i wanna know if people are using civics and what suspension setups and **** they are using. ffs would be cool fast downhill racers, i just wanna try understand all sorts of drivetrains. 👍

*sniff *sniff I smell an Initial D fanboy? XD, but seriously, when it comes to ff tuning, I usually just go stiffer in the rear all around, to take as much load of the front as possible, since it is already so overburdened.

use a Civic Type R.

Car still needs tuning. But here are my settings for now.

Suspension
Front 9.0/Rear 8.0

Ride height
unsure but try Front 5 clicks to the right from lowest/Rear low as possible

Damping
Inbound 8/8
Outbound 10/10

Camber
Front 2.2/Rear 2.0

Toe
left alone

Stabilizer
Front 5/Rear 6

Stock tranny
no brake balance controller but if you want, front 24(max)/rear 19-20
Aids off
Racing S tires for max performance
1 way LSD

racer -x-
thanx for the forum...but i didnt find the mini, then i didnt look that hard, but thanx anyway

Try reading the list! There's no excuse for laziness when another member has taken time out to find you the information you're looking for. :dopey:

Since it seems you need to be spoonfed like a baby though, here's what you're after:-

Beginner League Lightweight K-car Cup. Win all 3 races, your prize will be a Mini Cooper 1.3i.

Or...Amateur League European Championship. Win first 4 races, save the game, enter and exit last race, you'll win the championship and 1 of 4 prizecars, 1 of which is the Mini. If you don't win the Mini, reload the game and try again until you do!
