Best Cheat Device For GT4 ?

Man Codebreaker did something to my game. I did a start on lap 2 code, a 6x faster acceleration, All cars permitted. And then it was playin like normal, i got some cars saved. and wanted to start like normal. i resetted, and i couldn't get in my garage. The screen would just turn black, and the GT auto was black. And when i went to race the loading symbol turned red, and didn't do anything. I ad to start over but i really didn't get that far any way i was only at 26.-something percent. and i had way to much money- (damned AR max money code!) but w/ all those codes i caught up quick but i still have lil glitches here and there. I'll figure it out in due time... ;)

Lets try to isolate the problem. Is it just Codebreaker, or is your PS2 not working with your thumbdrive at all?

Does your thumbdrive work in GT4's Photomode? If it doesn't, there may be something wrong with your thumbdrive or PS2 or in combination. If this is the case, then it is not Codebreaker's fault. You'll need to find something that works with your PS2. Can you try a different thumbdrive?

Another tip: The instruction says you need to plug your thumbdrive in BEFORE bootup. However, if it is not recognized this way, you can "hot" unplug and re-insert it (i.e. keep the PS2 powered on). This happened to for me a few times, and it worked when I re-inserted it with the PS2 powered on.

I thought of that also and finally got a chance to try it in photo mode tonight. Worked great.

 
Short question (and hopefully a quick answer ;)):

I have an european PS2 SLIMLINE (the newer one) and I consider buying AR MAX. But what version will work with my slim PS2?

I want the Action Replay MAX EVO Edition with a USB pendrive included, would that work? I don't feel like spending 50 EUR on a thing that doesn't work after all :sly:
 
Just get a dman codebreaker. I'm almost postive that they are available in the eu. THey load faster and can use anykind of flash memory at all. Hell I hooked upmy mp3 player to it. I really dont see the hype about ar max. Codebreaker has codes faster as well. Overnight codes for gt4.
 
The Evo Edition should be fine. I have that version (no USB drive though) and a slimline. If you are getting it from the Codejunkies shop that will definitely be the latest version. Play.com is probably a recent version (their price is 29 Euros) as they do seem to shift stuff quickly
 
Codebreaker? Never heard of it.. You can't even get it at eBay ;)

I don't want to get it for the pen drive because I already have a 512 MB one ;)

It's been some years now but I had an AR for my Gameboy and it worked well so I think the new one for my PS2 Slimline will also work that well. And I want that media player because I don't have a DVD player and that would be a good addition :)


RogsR34UK: Can I upgrade the Evo to the latest version with an update? Play.com doesn't have PayPal and since I don't have a credit card I can't buy anything there.
The Problem is: How do I know it's the latest version? Well I can buy it and try it out but the shop may refuse it when I bring it back :(
 
Codebreaker is for an American PS2.

As a matter of fact, I have a Japanese PS2 and an AR2V2 which works perfectly on it.

You can get an upgrade from Datel/Codejunkies. I don't think they accept Paypal though do they?

If the worst came to the worst, I could get an AR Max from Play and ship to you. I have a Paypal account so we ought to be able to organize something if you don't mind covering the fees (shouldn't be much over 35 Euros depending on the cost of postage). PM me if you like.

The Evo version must be pretty up to date.

So, the Codebreaker 9.0 seems the best.
But I've been looking at the AR GT4.

Which is a better buy?
Codebreaker 9.0 or just a plain Action Replay GT4.

Any details on either would be nice.

If you have a USB Memory Stick (like the ones you use for Photomode then Codebreaker V9 is by far the best. If you go to the Codebreaker Web Site

You can download the codes for specific games to the USB Memory Stick (rather than the whole code list like you need to do with ARMax). You get to these in the "Day 1" section of the site.

The Action Replay GT4 disk is not really very good. There are some better codes for the Codebreaker.

Ah I see.

So how exactly does it work? In terms of steps and such?
I saw their site and the codes look a bit confusing.
 
Am I wrong in thinking that there is a free downloadable cheat device which I can put onto a USB memory key and use......or am I reading this all wrong.....
 
With the Codebreaker you go to the home page and click the Day 1 icon. Select the first letter of the game you want codes for and then select the game itself. You then have the Download option and click V8+ (or V7 if that is the only option). You can then download the codes for that game, direct to you USB Memory Stick (or to the PC hard disk). Once the codes are on the USB Stick put it into the PS2 USB slot and start up the Codebreaker disk. One option is to add new codes, and this will allow you to load any codes on the USB stick.

I bought a regular AR for GT3, and then 1 for GTA:SA which was a big mistake since all the codes I wanted were already on the internet that didn't need a AR and the SA section hasn't been updated in months.

I'm definately going with the Codebreaker 9.0.

I have no idea. Sometimes when one company gets a code another will get the same one. Unless they have an agreement I don't suppose they can copy each others codes.
 
so i got the code breaker, and what do you know, even the usb drive i have WONT work with it!

so i got the code breaker v9.1, and what do you know, even the usb drive i have WONT work with it!

damn man taht sucks soo much, anybody know what pen drive i can use to make it work?
