There is an interesting point of view for drifters that should be awared in this thread, and its not about uglyness or beauty:
Some exhaust types produce a sound not so loud enough to you listen your own engine while tandeming, sometimes you can listen your parter louder than yourself´s car.

It's a problem when racing too.....I often miss shifts as a result:ouch:

In terms of exhaust sounds I tend to like the sound of a big V8 through a racing exhaust but I'm also partial to the screaming V12 in the Enzo. Anything but an RX-7.....drifting with them sounds like flies buzzing about my head so I stay away from them:yuck:

That´s the point. Drifting is mostly about tandeming, about run closest as possible all the time.

One step at a time mate...I'm doing well if I can stay on the track:lol:

It's just RX-7's I don't like the sound of though:)

You obviously never heard the bathurst Rx-7 with semi have you?? lol.. sounds like it has a piston engine.

Should I put that one higher up on the to try list then? Don't think I've driven any of them yet but see them online.(I'm not a hater....more a lover of the wide range of cars in GT5 but haven't had time to drive them all yet:guilty:)

I'm sure the RX-7s will be a lot better to drive than the RX-8 I did try though....they were in previous versions of GT if I remember correctly.

Just get a bathurst and put the semi race exhaust. The sound is unlike any other Rx-7 you've ever heard in the game. And btw, the FD is MUCH better to drive then the Rx-8. I've got nothing against the Rx-8, its a good car when you get the right tune. But the FD is pretty much get one, and drive it. 👍

Had a go with it earlier. Does sound OK right enough:boggled:

Still not a patch on the Jag XK luxury though....I like that one more:)

Hey hey hey... im a RX-8 fanboy and im offended! (joking)

It´s obvious that RX-7 FD is better than the RX-8, you dont need more than look at both to realized that. A high performance sport car against a hypster daddy 4-door sport car. But thankfully drift is more about style than high performance (in my opinion), so i always will try find gold in less popular cars than the most used ones.

Anyways, the FD doesn´t do the magic by itself. Without a optimal setup, its weaker than any other car with same range of torque and weight, but a better setup.

Anyways

The FD is not weak at all, it just requires a different driving style for it to perform at its max potential. :D
