I've got some money to spare and I am looking for a new drift car. I decided I wanted a toyota, and I figured an FT86 would be the best choice for me, because I already have the Supra and the GT86. I was wondering which one you would recommend, the normal FT86 or the G-Sports. Which one's the best value? Which one is the best modified? Which is the best at drifting modified?

I've never drifted the FT86 to be honest but I have drifted the G sport and FT-86 II. My opinion is that you should get the G sports. In the showroom it costs half a million but if you complete the B-spec FR challenge in the beginner hall you get one for free which is how I got mine. Honestly, the main reason I started using the car was because of its looks. The reason I still drift it is because with my setup, it is the most pleasing car to drift. It's no wonder why its my signature car

I kinda figured you'd say the G-Sports. I actually have driven the G-Sports when I went to a friend's house, but I never drifted it. I think it's the best looking FT86.👍 Is yours modified or stock? I've got enough money to buy it, but not to modify it...yet. Which way is best for drifting?

BTW, how do you get the FT86 II? I've never seen it, is it DLC?

My G sport has full modifications so it has 380 or so hp and weighs about 950 kg. The overall setup is fairly stiff with a loose LSD. This is so it will just snap into a drift at ease.

I got my FT-86 II by buying 2 packs of the first DLC released. I got the complete pack when the DLC was released and when one of the updates came out it was said if you buy 2 of the DLC you get the 86 II. I bought an extra paint pack and got the car. Not sure if it works anymore now. The FT-86 II is very similar to the G sport and is a great drift car in itself

Sweet. I'll see what I can do. What power mods can you use, or is that stock power?

Also, what tyres do you use, comfort hards?

I bought the paint pack for a second time just the other day, and received an 86 II. Unless something changed in the last few days, then I'd say it still works.

The Toyota FT86 II was given to those who logged in to those who logged in around Christmas time last year. If you didn't log in and receive it, I don't think you ever will :indiff: .

EDIT: IMO most cars with a huge aftermarket spoiler look very ugly so I tend to avoid spoilers. Also, did I mention that you can't put a aftermarket spoiler on the regular version? And for me I have both cars and a lot of money and I have to say that the original version drifts better for me 👍 .

Assuming you play online, do the seasonal events. You can make between 100k-1,000,000 in a single race.

Or if you know how to drift well, you can make up to 1,000,000 Cr. (With 200% bonus) just for sliding a car around 3-5 corners. Sounds like a deal to me :)👍 .

I would normally do that, but I was finishing up Assassin's Creed Revelations (GREAT GAME!!! 👍), so I have to build up that 200% bonus again. I am going to do that eventually, but the perpose of this thread was for me to have information about the best FT86 to buy for drifting, befor I buy one.

I do have both, and the cheaper one (about 350k) is way better. But also is much harder to setup, because its naturaly less predictble than the G-Sports. It needs dampers numbers higher than im used to set, thats the only way to make it respond at his best. In other hand, the G-Sports accept a wider set of possibilities for tunning, even the most generic will works.

Also, in the paper, it haves better weight distribuition and a stronger engine. So it will be able to keep up with some class A and B cars witch the G-Sports wont... besides, im all for wingless cars, so naturaly i would try all my efforts on the cheaper one.

I want to thank you guys for your opinions and thoughts. I did buy the G-Sports, and I modified it and it works great. I used shmogt's tune and I can drift all of Suzuka East perfectly in 3rd gear. I'm currently working on getting the normal FT86 to see how it compares. I'm going to leave this thread open to see other peoples thoughts as well.
