Best LeMans 24hr car for A and B Spec?

I'm looking for a car that gets decent gas mileage and gets decent performance. I was going to use the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP but now I'm having second thoughts. Any opinions are completely welcome.

As enjoyable as the car's performance was for the LeMans 24, the fact that the 908's forward view from the in-car perspective is, and the fact that the straights on the track are so bumpy, means these sections can be quite difficult even in the best of circumstances. If you leave the car un-upgraded like I did, and simply tune it for the race, its performance is phenomenal without being overly advantageous. Just don't restrict yourself to the in-car view. I understand the 905 to be quite capable of the task as well. For an outright win, the Pescarolo C60 Hybride, not Peuggeot, is the likely candidate even if you only tune it and keep the power level as-is, due to the car's wet handling and considerable speed. As for finding a Speed 8 carfreak, you might try this: http://gt5cars.net/used_car_searches/new

787B! But the problem with rotary engines is that they dont get alot of gas mileage! Now.. i dont know if this applies for GT5, but the 787B is a really nice car tu use for LeMans!

You'll have to pit at every 30-40 liters anyway (racing mediums front/hards rear).

So I don't see gas mileage as a problem. :)

If you wan't an outright guaranteed win, the X2011 is the best racer in the game. If you wan't something more reasonable, the premium Audi R10 TDI is a pretty good choice. It is slightly underpowered so offers a good challenge (because the race is so easy already.).

If you use the X2011 your gonna get bored to death :rolleyes:

Yes, but it's useful if you don't have the money or ability to buy a Mercedes C9. It is also almost necessary for the B-Spec race.
Yes, its is necessary for B-SPEC! But I think by LvL 35 u should havee enough money to bye at least the Audi R10 TDI :boggled:

Good point. I think the best Premium (because not every UCD has a C9 in it) car that is real and able to be raced in Le Mans would be the Peugot LMPs. Take into account by the time you get to the race you should at least have the Toyota Minolta 88C-V and the Audi you won from Nurburgring 4hr. The Toyota has the most HP of any car in the game other than the Veyron and X2011/X2010. If you are like me and finished B-Spec before starting a-spec then you should also have the Toyota 7. My point is you shouldn't have to but an Audi R10 or Peugot 905; well you may have the money maybe a P4 is n your bucket list, so you COULD go with something you already have.

If you're really good you could probably do it in an ESCUDO Dirt Trial car. I would be interesting.

I'll be honest, I haven't done it yet. I'm level 40 100% done with B-spec, but In just can't get around to finishing a-spec. I will probably use the X2011 because A) I don't have a 787B, the optimal choice, and B) I don't want to race for 24 hours and then lose. The 787b is probably the best car for this event.

Not quite true.

The R92CP race car has 1078 BHP if I remember correctly (and also a couple other cars have more BHP then the Toyota if im not mistaken).

The R92CP has more stock HP, but the 88C-V has more tuned HP. I was assuming that people tune their cars to participate in Le Mans...

Since when did the Minolta have more BHP then the R92CP race car, even when maxed out?

R92CP = 1027 stock - 1078 maxed out

Minolta = 936 stock - 1040 maxed out

Yes I know that not all the numbers in those statistics from mygt.com are correct... But they still show the difference.

Edit: To comparism:
R89C Race Car = 954 stock - 1043 maxed out

C60 Hybride = 921 stock - 1047 maxed out

A-spec: Any of the LMP's are good enough. Even some of the RC's, like the team Oreca Viper, the Vertigo, etc...

B-spec: LMP's or better. I've let 3 Bob's do the race in the Toyota GT1, Audi R8, and Judd GV5 with very little direction in the R8 and GV5 and no direction in the GT1. Won all 3 times.

I just finished my 24hr LeMans, a-spec and b last weekend. Took a week to get the a-spec done.

I tried a couple of LMP cars for a few laps and was not encouraged to risk a loss after running 24hrs.

The nice thing about using the 2010 or 2011 is after you figure out how fast you can drive that thing you can run 4-6 tanks of fuel through, be 20+ laps up and park it at the start/finish line and read a book or watch a movie for an hour or so while 2nd place catches up. I actually only drove 19 of the 24 hours. Popped level 40 at the end, fired up the b-spec and let it run 'til done.

Nurburgring next.

If I get desperate someday I may try these races with a more appropriate car, but for now I just want them done and in the win column.

im thinking of doing the a-spec le mans very soon,if not today.Im going to use audi r8,speed 8 or 787b as stock for the event.Which one of them offers the most challenge against the ai? anyone of them survive 3 laps?

Not sure what the stock HP is but i tuned my 787 down to 700HP and it was a blast. I was doing battle with the Bentley and Audi the entire race.
