Are you in it for the long haul? These three race tracks utlilize country roads and city streets to go for much longer courses. The shortest of these three is of course, Le Mans. The longest is the Isle of Man. The track most famed for sportscars is Le Mans, and the most famed for motorcycles is the Isle of Man. The longest lap times can be found on Nurburgring Nords and Isle of Man, and the shortest lap times is Le Mans. The most physical track has to be Nurburgring with its bumps and long laps. And you have to finish the final lap to classify there. So of these three long course heavyweights, which is the best of the three?
I'll start.
I LOVE Le Mans. It is a wonderful track with a vibrant atmosphere. It takes plain country roads and a world-class circuit and turns it all into a one-of-a-kind experience. Many great names have either won or competed in this great race. I am very inexperienced with the Nurburgring Nordschleife long course. All I know is that no open-top superexotics race on the track. It still opens the door for nice saloon car action. You are tested SO MUCH more here than at Le Mans (not to say Le Mans is a cakewalk). And with this track being in GT4, it will be a very welcome challenge. The Isle of Man is different for one big reason- it's has no 24-hour race. Just motorcycles, 36-something miles of road, and long lap times. It is fun because of the multitude of events that happen there on track.
But which will I have to choose? For my loyalties in motorsport, let's say Le Mans is my pick, but in a dead heat with the Nurburgring Nords. How about you?
