Best Production 2WD Rallyist?

Okay, those standards are phenomenally confusing. I'd suggest simplifying them hugely if you want to get any participation at all. First, do away with the multiplier. It is overly contrived, and I honestly can't figure out where those numbers came from. Second, convert the pounds to kilograms, for convenience. Third, do away with the parts list, or at least alter the lesser entries; no one cares about car washes and wheels, and if you must buy a flywheel, whey not get a racing flywheel? There is sort of a natural performance limit anyway, since we're dealing with a very low-grip situation here, and 500hp would not be wanted.

It sure as hell worked fine for us...

The idea is to emulate one of the near-production rally classes (I forgot which as well). So that's the reason for the multipliers.

Who the hell wants a turbo rotary to have a sub-1000kg minimum weight? It'd pwn everybody.

Here's how the multipliers work: Diesels don't make as much power for the displacement, so they can be larger than the 2650cc.

A rotary makes good power for the displacement, so it's limited in max size.

A turbo motor makes more power than it ever should for the displacement, so limited in max size.

Get my drift?

I don't know about having luck beyond the beginner/easy races, but the '70 Dodge Changer R/T is a blast to run on the rally tracks as long as you take the time to learn how to feather the throttle. Plenty of power under the hood, and enough weight to keep it in check . . . well at least most of the time.

I had an Orange one that I had specifically set up for rally races.

Alfa: We had done Grand Canyon and Tahiti Maze...

Swiss Alps, Cathedral long and Chamonix along with the dragstrip would make for a hella fun challenge.
