what is the one i should look for?
at the moment ive got the bathurst r, rs (fd) and rz
out of all the RX 7's which is the overall best model?
which is the most powerful?
any help appreciated

I agree with the above posters, depends on whether you want road or race.

That said, I took a black used stock RX7 to the Nurb today on comfort tires and had a lot of fun! I pretended I was really there, so I didn't redline it or push hard. I successfully didn't crash :)

most of my time in gt4 is spent driving australian and american cars but i really enjoy driving the rx 7s. probably my favorite Japanese car :)
i have the blue, yellow and white bathurst plus the other models
saw a nice black rx7 on the side on the road the other day 👍

It really depents on what your useing it for.I mostly use a fully tuned Bathurst.I got to say it one of the best fully moded cars to drive.based on handling and fun factor.got give the rx 7 kudos

for street the 93' RX-7 Type R FD3S because the earlier FD3S's are more "flickable" and overall more fun to drive IMO. :)

For track the RE Amemiya Asparadrink FD3S is a good choice IMO. 👍

Flickable? O.o

I like the Bathurst, too. But still, I love the LM Car. It looks so evil.

Flickable as in manuverable and balanced, I guess you can say it's easier to get its rear end out in a sharp corner but still maintain complete control, kinda like the MR2 and AZ-1.

i forgot i had the older rx7 race car and the infiniti
before i restarted the game my first car was an old silver rx7
cant remember which one though
just raced the re rx7 for the first time 👍

It depends on if you're asking about road RX-7's or race RX-7's. If you're looking for race, then of course the best would have to be the RX-7 LM Race Car. As for road, the only road RX-7 I have bought would be the Bathurst, so I don't know what to tell you.

i belive the spirit R type A is the best of the FD's yes the bathurst was desgined to commemorate a victory and utilizes carbon from factory BUT the spirit R was the truest spirit of the RX-7 originally they desgned the car with tons of inspiration from the japanese ZERO looking through the wreckage of some zeros besides that its the FINAL Prod model of the FD..currently i have one taht does 58.4 (tsukuba) on S2 tires and only 324hp stage 2 weight, rollcage, closegearbox, triple plate clutch racing flywheel 1.5way lsd, lightweight driveshaft, GT wing, original suspention, racing brakes NO controler...i dunno what u guys think but over here in my part of SA town thats a damn good time....for a car with only 324....the FD spirit to me proves its worth...if i can only get it to catch up with my other 324 car...my NSX type R (same mods as above) runs 57.7 (tsukuba) and i cannot get the FD to hit it...yet....

FC drifts well....and is a great 200-250class car! if ur battling low power people! i just built one same mods as above NO custom gearboxes no balance controler, mAX output is 225 so far im running 103's but i KNOW its gunna hit 102's by tomorrow.....

ANY RX-7 will be good the LATER years are more controled and stable so if u want a timeattack car.....get a spirit R if u want a drifter it doesnt matter they all drift well with proper tuning! again those are my 2 cents good luck!

thats my 2 cents

I'd say that they all have different characteristics- not necessarily better.

For example, in just the FD model the '91 "type R" version(although that really was an FC year, here in the US anyways) has gobs of oversteer. But the last one, the '02 "Spirit R Type A" has more rear stability than you need.

But between the FC and FD(only ones in GT4), I like the FC simply because it suits my style better.

--Mastermind--: Welcome to GTP first of all, but you really need to work on your grammar. In your first paragraph, I had read nearly half of it before finding a period, and even then I can't tell if you have ended the sentence or are just pausing. A good rule of thumb: "1 sentence = 1 thought" until you can better grasp how to write. 👍

i should of clarified that from the start. my bad
i was refering to road cars 👍
there my favorite

I've only driven the FD's so far, I have a Spirit R, '96 RZ, '00 RZ and a Bathurst, and I had some RSes on my previous save that I corupted. I really like the Spirit R and the Bathurst stock, great fun on the 'ring, n2s + no aids, but the one I like the most of all of them is probably the '96 RZ fully tuned.

luftrofl

Thanks for the warm welcome! Well i didint honestly think i was submitting something to an english professor BUT, ill be sure to watch my grammer from here on out!! Its not going to be Nobel Prize level but ill do my best i mean hell i work at a fabshop building cars. Im no english major BUT i can build u a soild effcient intercooler lol

Well thanks for the welcome everyone! and good luck selecting your RX-7
BTW: In reallife own have a red 88 Turbo II, they are soo much fun and i cant wait to finish my twinturbo 13B-REswap!

The '90 FC. The FDs = Meh.

I tried all of them, and I just didn't like them as much. Perhaps I'm a little biased because I miss my FC, which was stolen( Yes I had one for real. '91 ), but it looks badass and drifts like a charm. I wish GT4 had the old RX-7s the first gen, FB. Those are lightweight, drop a V8 in one of those and watch it fly...

i just bought a spirit r in vintage red
i cant figure out which is better, the spirit or the bathurst
tell you what though i dont mind racing the older rx7 falken race car!
slides round corners nicely 👍 :)

well from a reality stand point u cannot make an FC handle like an FD. Its because of the suspention geometry is just more advanced than the FC's design...I do like to think that they come close i have a video of the tsukuba race of the RE FC and the RE FD the same driver drove it the FC just wasnt up to par BUT it ran a damn good time...just the FD ran a 56....top in class if im not mistaken! well honestly i belive for 300+hp time attack the FD will rape the FC...it just simply puts all the power to the ground at least for me the FC just doesnt do that...(i dont use slicks so im working offa s2 and sometimes rarely s3's....) so it just brakes loose to easy...for me...well good luck again u RX-7 owners!

Not sure which is the best, but I sure do miss the '96 A-Spec RZ, my fave from GT2. I have soo many FD's from '00 on back to '91. the newest spirit R is pretty good at road handling, but it's up to your style which car does it for you.

I think the best stock for RX-7 is the Spirit R Type A because it was stiff with good brakes. It was also the latest model (June 2002). The Bathurst Type R is almost the same as the Spirit R but a little bit weaker. It has 16inch wheel. The Spirit R has 17inch wheel. I don't know if it depends on the size of the wheel . Anyways, I will do a comparaison about the new RX-7 model (2000-2002) soon.
