Best way to lower ratings cleanly

I'm sure most of us have been through this. Win a bunch of races and then come to a standstill because the guys you are now racing with, due to your progress, are way faster.

All I want to do right now is win 91 races ( currently stuck on 75 ). What is the best way to lower my SR or DR or what ever is necessary to bring the competition below my skill level?

I mean cleanly, without effecting other players. I've tried getting disqualified, crashing into barriers, quitting mid game etc but it doesn't seem to work, or at least not effectively.

When I was ascending the ranks it seemed too easy to go backwards but now it seems impossible.

Once I have my 91 races I will be happy to play regular and get up with the best guys and keep loosing but have a fun race.

In one race earlier. I spun coming out of the final chicane at suzuka and went in the gravel and spun twice trying to get out and then quit. It didn't effect anyone else, well maybe a few laughed as they drove past.
But this lost me 2000 DR and 11 SR.
But if you want to loose DR and keep your SR maybe run a few races without Qualifying and just run around at the back and finish last.
Edit,
Also I know what you mean I'm at 80 races and in S S rank and today at suzuka I must of run 10 - 15 races and the best I could get was second, it's really hard to win when you up against some of the guys that set the top ten times and you start 7th -12th. And your qualifying time is over 1 second off the top ten.:banghead:

I think I need to lower SR too but I will try the stay at the back method. I tried starting midfield and finishing last but it didn't seem to do much.

I wish someone would just ram me so I wouldn't feel bad about chasing them off the track! ha ha

You are one of the people I have a problem with! ha ha

I qualified for Suzuka today, with what I thought was a reasonable time and entered the race last ( 16th ). I think P1 was 4 seconds faster than me.

Last week and before I would normally qualify 1st or at least P3 and win 2 or 3 races a day. Seems impossible now.

I have done this. The best way to drop down is start Sport races and then just quit just after the sart so you do not impact on anyone else's racing. You will lose more DR SR with the longer races with more people. BTW don't even bother to qualify so you start at the back of the pack anyway.

Iv'e tried running at the back of the field it does lower your DR because your lapping so much slower, However your SR will increase simply because which mostly seems to affect who you race against, So the past 10 or so races I've entered just to quit and my SR is at A down from S, It takes soooo long to drop ratings now and just isn't fun.

Is the Trophy for the wins really worth gaming the system and making a mockery of the whole thing? I mean, you know you gamed the system for the achievement... So you know you didn't 'earn' it. Who you trying to impress? :guilty:

Sure I'm going to 'earn' it. I know what you are saying but I will get some feeling of achievement getting a Platinum. The racing is a seperate part. Getting a platinum is like closing the book and moving onto the next challenge, PC2, DiRT, etc

Excellent, thanks. Quitting before the race starts doesn't seem to do anything but during a race, I'll give it a try.

I see your bike, have you tried DriveClub Bikes? Excellent fun

Yes, SR goes up just by clean laps, even when you are last. Thanks for the tip, like you said it can't be much fun though! ha ha I need someone to wreck me!

I have 4 Sport Mode wins in 500+ tries and I get a kick out of these people with way more quaking because they haven’t gotten to the 91 yet.

Ha ha. If I start that I may never stop!

You must have got a kick out of winning each time. It's always a good feeling.

Simple. Don't qualify. Then when the race starts, drive as slow as possible, don't even have to complete one lap - just keep the car moving so you don't get disqualified. Then just plod around. Your car will ghost so you won't interfere or ruin other people's race. You're SR won't drop at all, it will be green arrows all the way but your DR will drasticly drop! Don't drop below 1000 DR though or you will get mixed with A and S rated drivers for some odd reason!

Once you have dropped your rating and get the Trophy you will find the wins will still keep coming quite naturally as you rank back up again. I still get wins now that I am back to AS. I'm on about 130 now IIRC.

It's quite funny really, once I got the trophy, I didn't care as much about the wins anymore and concentrated on getting my DR & SR back up and as I said the wins just came naturally. I think mainly from avoiding contact and watching the front runners wreck each other ;-)

That's my plan exactly. The Trophy is almost a distraction. Once achieved I can concentrate on being the best driver I can, not necessarily winning.

Just quit a sports race .The DR rating always takes a decent hit .

That's what I'm doing now, but it's so sloooooooooooooooooooow

Join a blue moon or Tokyo race. Your SR will be down to D or E range in no time. Then, once the grids are sufficiently weak enough to really tank your DR, just quit once the race starts. There are three races you can do this in at any given time.

All you need to do is draft bump on Bluemoon Bay to tank your SR to 1, which will reset your DR to 7K. It only takes 1 race. You can draft bump on Tokyo as well. Just don't bump in a corner :)

On some nights after going hard on GTS I doze off waiting for the next race and wake up to the disqualified black screen I don't know if it was cleanly but that lowered my ranks couple times really.... I play to much I guess

Dont quit races! Your SR will suffer massively and theres no need for it! Use my advice on my previous post for a guaranteed low DR and high S SR rating. Clean races forever!

Just stay where you are and learn there is more than winning. That would be the only good answer in this thread. You clearly are better than you think thus driving in upper ranking. You want to lower your ranking to think you are better than others. Take some selfesteem lesson ;)

The game clearly knows you are better than you think and outsmarted you ;)

I just managed the 91 wins today, took me 1900 races. I have never deliberately lowered my rank but in my experience Monza or the Tokyo tracks usual kill my S/R the main risk in lowering rank is your back driving with the muppets with no manners and can be a struggle to get back up to where the decent people are. I agree with others tho if your really feel you want to lower your rank just quit a few races once they start, i have quit races a few times and often got a fair large hit on my S/R.

I guess instead of 'Record number of wins' and 'Matched Michael Schumacher’s record of 91 F1 victories.' this trophy should be called 'Big fish, small pond' and read 'Sandbagged your way to 91 wins'. Really not an achievement at all.

It doesn't work as an achievement at all, because it rewards 'flip-flop' drivers who are really varied. Drivers who sometimes don't practice, and crash, but then other times do a good lap after some practice, are way more likely to get these achievements than a consistent driver. The only consistent drivers who will get these trophies are mega aliens. Even consistently high A drivers will struggle to get this trophy, (or consistently low S drivers in EMEA region).

Why specifically these 2 tracks? I usually do pretty well in these. Are you penalized more on these circuits more than others?

I usually do worse on twisty tracks with a loose car, I can't concentrate that long! ha ha

I don't want to affect other drivers, this would be a last resort. I guess that by draft bumping outside braking zones will not effect their DR/SR but none the less it could still affect their race, and even their mood!

Start last and drive the wrong want round. Should do the trick

Does this still work? I thought by going backwards you just got reset. I will give it a try.

Ha ha! You definitely play too much :-)

I think my SR needs to go down too, to keep away from grouping with the top drivers. It's easy to rank up in SR again, not so easy in DR.

I agree, there is more than winning, BUT, a part of the game ( at least for me ) is winning trophies. I don't want to think I am better than others, I already know that I aw way out classed by a considerable number of drivers. Just want that pesky trophy.

I am willing to go through the hell of racing with muppets to get the trophy! ha ha

I must admit, racing with the top guys is a lot more fun, no wins necessary, but I want the trophy. Maybe I'm obsessed!

You are not the only person to mention Monza and Tokyo but strangely, for me, these are 2 tracks I do well at, in all configurations.

Congrats on the 91 wins, it's a long long slog to level 50 for the platinum :-/
