Is the best way to get wins/poles is to "smurf" your way into a lower DR?

Like basically, for the trophies for wins and poles, is it ideal to just throw races until your DR is low and you're paired with genuinely unskilled racers? That doesn't seem too fair. Should I just do my best and not think too hard about DR nor whether I'm on pole/winning? As long as I'm doing my best, trying to work with the traffic, using ideal throttle control to avoid spinning out, etc.?

Some people do not care as to how they get the accomplishment just so they get it, others will feel the trophy is a hollow victory and dropping down the rankings to basically to steal candy from a baby to complete an accomplishment is not how they want to earn the achievement.

Only you can decide what type of person you are and what you feel makes such achievement actually worth anything.

I think you'll have more success lowering your SR. Not that I'd recommend it, but it's your decision on how you want to play the game.

Just get to DR A and wait around for a DR reset. Its inevitable when you're at A because the SR penalties are so extreme.

Last time I had a DR reset I think I won 15 races in a row

If you race fair you will get there over time. Just as @ARTAsean said, racing fair will sooner or later tumble you down the SR ladder where poles and wins are the reward for being deemed unsportmanlike.

Racing carefully, avoiding all contact to stick to SR 99 will only get you matched with A+ and top 10 aliens where winning is out of the question. I used to consider it a personal victory when I managed to get to the finish line before the timer ran out. It's still often close.

I did eventually get some wins at A/S max SR, yet only on Monza which scares aliens. (Or ships them off to SR.A for starting out front)

Interesting post for me.

Had been steadily climbing the DR rankings since purchasing this game in November....above the average curve line, got up to 27,000 ish and rarely away from Sr 99

It was then that as a high B driver that I started to get matched with A+ and A lobbies.

Wasn't much chance of winning in these lobbies but must admit I felt greater pressure in these races which in turn lead to mistakes.

While having some time off work, I chose to deliberately tank my ratings to see what it was like to have one of these resets that I'd read about here.

It's actually quite difficult to do without deliberately driving into people.
Took about twenty races of getting on to the grid and quitting...lol.

After getting there I put in a reasonably quick lap and though i must have pole surely.

No, was about 2 seconds away...a serial tanker....ex 54,000 DR rank driver with a couple of hundred wins.

I didn't win that race and found that there are a hell of a lot of those kind of drivers.

I have pretty much doubled my win count and had some easy races however, for me, they kinda feel like hollow victories.

Glad my DR rankings are up in the 20,000s again. It's getting more and more difficult.

I've found that just as in DR C as well as DR A and A+ from reading on here over the weekend, that even with the SR at the very top, there are still people that will block, run you off the track and divebomb you.

Don't think I'll want to go back down the rankings.
For me I think I'll just try and tough it out with those ranked above me rather than below.

GT Sport is far from perfect....doesn't stop me from coming back again and again and again though.

DO NOT drive into people and wreck their races. It is easy to tank you ranking by just quitting the game as the race starts.

Although, it only took 3 races for me to go from DR-A/ SR-S to C/C because of a couple of rammers! As has already been stated, the game will soon enough just slam you down the rankings all by itself just because you want to drive clean >:-(

27K B DR rating and yep in A and A+ daily races, although got into a bun fight of a race a few weeks back where i just seemed to get hit from all sides and went to SR C...... then came the wins and pole positions (more wins than poles)..... I've also given up caring about 99SR, if I tap or get tapped so be it - I'm not out there to smash others deliberately but I'm also not going to pussy foot around others just for a 99SR...
