I stand corrected. It could still be possible though, currently having no plans does not mean they won't do it ever.

Oops just remembered I got an ipad air from work the ither week, still it's a bit less subtle when you head towards the Gents with an ipad under your arm...

That car database looks brilliant, and since I never got the Anniversary Edition of GT6 I won't mind giving the e-book a read :) Does anyone know what the download size is?

Boom.

Anyways, let's get back to talking about the app. So it'll come out midnight local time according to the website...
"It's really like, nice and pretty"

im sorry, since when did plastic and assorted metals become pretty...

edit:

this is what also seems new to me for the gt6 products page clear at the bottom...

Online community features can be accessed through the iOS Safari and standard Android browsers. In addition, a future update will provide linked features through a specialised mobile device app.

- This app is available in US English, UK English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Mexican Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Asian English (the localised versions are available through the corresponding iTunes stores).
- It will be available on the App Store for selected countries after 0:00AM (midnight) of 30 July 2014 local time.

I think the US is a selected country.

BTW the idea came from that I'm making a small gaming room and I want something collectable, GT memorabilia outside the main games.

For that it'd be amazing to have a coffee table Gran Turismo book. I know that quality will probably never happen, but just a regular hard cover would be fine.

The 'amazing quality' example:

Interesting how some of the buttons (such as the back button) are still from pre iOS 7 and have that fake shine to them.

Is there a Ios emulator? I downloaded an Android SDK years ago, and it came with an Android emulator.

No plans for Android?
You really can imagine how good the first GT games were because there are still many people who are fans of this series although PD **** things up constantly on PS3.

I mean PD should shut up and work. No promises to fans - just do it!
Everytime the same sh.....

Not surprising. Japan is known for its conservativeness and hate change. I heard most of Japanese companies even greatly refused to upgrade its system from Windows XP.

Thats why some of its pop culture is crazy, its actually a rebel.

Dude chill a bit, This is just an ebook app, it has nothing much special. This is not the mobile features (more than likely).

Remember what happens when they currently DO have plans. Like Community Features, B Spec and Course Maker.

Of course, they could live in Backwards Land and "currently have no plans" could mean "out next week". Who really knows?

While you're right, think about what this likely means for the mobile features. If they only make a simple ebook for one OS, what makes you think that they'll take the time to develop (presumably more complicated) mobile features for both major OSes?

Most companies IN THE WORLD refused to upgrade from XP until forced to. XP was well supported and integrated with all their software, and was relatively secure in that the major vulnerabilities had mostly been detected and fixed. None of that could be said of Vista, 7 or 8 at release.

Companies tend to favour security and stability over the latest shininess, which is why you'll find lots of major companies using 15+ year old enterprise software, because the changeover would be such a massive task that it's not worth it.
