I'd have to say, the biggest stuff up i've seen by him is when I was doing the Circuit de la sathre (please excuse the spelling, havn't played in a while..) Doing the 24 hour race. I raced 5 hours of it in my Mazda 787B, and was leading by a few laps. It started to get late, so I put it on B-Spec while I went to sleep. I got up and saw that he was stuck... and quiet litterally. He had plowed in to the corner at the end of the straight, and god only knows why, but he kept reversing and drving back in to the same spot. When I checked my possision, and the time remaining, it was 11 hours remaining, and I was coming second by a lap, so I thought he would be able to get out of it, so I left him there, to smash into the wall for another half an hour... And he had failed to move anywhere. 👎

Maybe an feature that will be added to the future Gran Turimo's will be the option to change from B-Spec to A-Spec at any time, but not from A-Spec to B-Spec.

What about you guys? Whats you're biggest stuff up by Bob.

No, is too unreal, you don't see drivers in real running up the track to switch:dunce:.

If it's a long endurance race, it might be useful. Drive a few hours, go into the pits, switch to B-spec for a few hours, pit, switch back to A-spec, etc. That would be realistic.

Edit: Can you already do this? I haven't played GT4 for a while.

Yes you can do that,
He meant like in the middle of the track:crazy::).

Worst idea ever to do that, man. B-Spec Bob doesn't have the commonsense to go into the pits so when you went to sleep, The tires may have worn off and thus, he hits wall, gets stuck and nothing else. Also you already could change back to a-spec (even though its only through the pits).

Yeah I know that, but I find if Bob does screw up during an endurance race, mid way through it, and you're already a few hours in to it, it means you have to start again, and the cars you're up against may change, you're car needs an oil change again, ect. It was just an idea anyway.

And yeah... good point dennisw, you don't see drivers running on to a track to change drivers. (if that made any sence at all).

Bob can, will, and does pit for tires and fuel.

He does? Seems like when I didn't signal a pitstop, he just went all over the place and crashed.

Yeah he does. He pits when to tires go orange. And does a full pit stop.

Back to the topic, I still havn't heard of any more B-Spec Major stuff ups.

My Bob-less had a similar problem during a 1000 miles event at Le Sarthe.

Pulled this from here to save me re-typing it again. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3267978&postcount=20
The first time I ran through the 1000 miles I used the Overkill AC or Shelby Cobra (can't remember which one). I would drive some and then bob would drive some. On the last race of the series (La Sarthe) Bob took over approx 10 laps in. Then on lap 25 or so, bob lost it at the end on the massive straight and went straight in to the sand. He then spent the next 15 min's driving in to the wall, reversing then driving straight in to the wall again. I came back from watering the garden, expecting bob to have finished. Instead he was still in the sand trap with a lap time currently of 16 mins or so. Lucky it was the last race, as I just exit and still won the championship. Ever since then I have not used Bob for the 1000 miles event.

I did it myself (obviously) for the 200 point run. But every time I will do it myself.

I then only used Bob-less to wear down the rides, and to make a little money in the DTM. I now use him hardly at all.

At least you still won. 👍 I tried to not use Bob as much after that. He does come in handy when you're making lunch or something. Just repeating a race for some extra credits.

I don't use bob anymore, i fired him, check my sig(i am now at 22%:dunce:.

Ha, surprisingly when I saw that comment I lol'ed. How are you planing to do the 24 hour events? Like do 5 hour increments?

Just 24hours straight, i also did that in the other save twice, with a camaro racecar!!
btw: i accepted your friend request!

ROFL! I know that car for being annoying in all the Super Car races, LOL. And thanks for accepting 👍 Lol. I did the most of it in the Minolta, and raced like 18 hours of it. I was leading by like 23 laps, and when I put bob at the wheel for 5 hours, it went up by like 2. Last hour I did myself, because I felt like I had achieved something :D

The camaro is actually nice to drive, if it is tuned well...
just R1's on it and GO!!

Have to give it a shot when my Ps2 allows itself to work again.. Maybe tomorrow i'll go get my slim, and have a race or two. 👍 Bob will be itching to have a race, but i'll tell him to P.O.

For me, B-SPEC bob brakes too much or just goes into the grass. For big races, I always take it in A-SPEC anyways. I learned my lesson the first time around in GT4, it is better to race yourself than to leave it to the AI. Trust me, the GT4 AI isn't really that intelligent.

What i've noticed is that the AI will stay in a pack, especially in a dealership race. Bob, being controlled by the AI, is basically getting in front, and trying to catch up to the pack again.

A good way to save tires when he is driving though, would be too get in front, then turn off the over-taking option. When it is on, and you're leading, he will try to catch up to the car coming last.

my bad B spec bob moment was when I was doing the 8 hours of Motegi. I (and him) was racing in an Amuse GT1 and after 2 hours, I handed it over to bob. I checked another hour later and bob was doing the same style of driving he does when you finish a race (you know, the accelerate a bit, let off the throttle untill it slows down enough). I checked and there was still 3 hours to go and because I was tied for time, I had to abort.

God, thats so annoying when Bob, tries to look cool and all, by screwing up the race. Maybe that was a sign, saying, Race it yourself. :D Lol.

I like Bob, but I know not to push him, as he prefers driving steady. Once in a blue moon I let him drive fast, but I always watch him. Sometimes I let him cruise or just go slow and Bob has never let me down.

I know, it's like half a year Grave-dig, but I think I want to start the topic again, without making a new thread. So, has anyone had a big stuff-up by Bob?

If you race a bunch of group C racers with Super soft tires on Circuit De La Sarthe 2 in arcade mode, they start to do a drift routine around the end of the first lap. It's really weird watching 3 race cars with over 900bhp drift corners right next to each other:)

Few weeks ago, i used a Black Toyota GT-One car, for the Le Mans 24 hours. After completing about 4-5 hours, i handed it to the B spec mode. 5 hours later, i woke up only to find out that i was few laps down, can't remember how many, but i was in the lead when i handed the car over.

I switched back, charged and charged, but i gave up, because somewhere in the 14th hour i think, the car's handling was really bad, it could barely go straight on the Mulsanne. It was so difficult to catch up (leading duo was the Toyota Minolta & Sauber), and i gave up.

Last weekend, i attempted the race again, this time, in turbo stage 3 Audi R8 race car. It was perhaps the only car the B spec could handle properly, w/out any mistakes, and won the race.

B-spec does suck. :D
He pitted on autumn ring mini on a three lap race, well he slided into the pits but still he's freaking bad when you don't give it a car with a stage 4 turbo.

I do agree. Handing over to B spec is like throwing in the towel. But i don't really have a choice. I don't have the time these day. For a few months, my mileage on B spec was 0. Now it's more than 10,000 miles i think. My A spec is 12,000 miles.

I did recently the laguna seca 200 Miles with a stock Viper SRT-10 and at around 45 laps I handed it out to bob but 5 laps later he was a minute behind the leader (Shelby series 1) and before I switch to him I was 10 seconds in front of the shelby. He's freaking useless.

 I'll try to get pictures of this, it's a massive AI FAIL.

If you race only the Polophony GT's, around Test Course, at an endurance race amount of laps, (and watch if you switch to B-Spec) you will notice that every car on the trace has troubles with the first corner. Their wheels lock, they turn into the barrier at approx. 350-400 KPH, and they flip up into the sky. Yup, FLIP UP INTO THE SKY. And if there is a 4-5 second gap between 1st and 2nd and 1st crashes like this, you're likely to see come big crashes.
