I like bob for the test track and super speedway
also he is pretty good for if you get the au supra ( the orange one) and then wear down the tyers. Then switch to bspec mode and he will drift like crazy

+1 This is crazy to watch. Hahahahaha.

I was recently doing the Nurburgring 24hr endurance race B-spec (Audi touring car), when around lap 150 he didn't pit in when he should've. My eyes were bulging, my jaw dropping, but I quite clearly could see the "pit in" instruction still in place. I felt somewhat panicky because his tyres were already wasted, but his fuel situation was dire too. Sure enough, about two thirds of a lap later, just red smudges for tyres, no bars left for fuel.

I thought "That's it, race over, next time pitting every 3 laps regardless" (I'd been doing 3, sometimes 4 laps between pits up till then). However, thankfully, the race was not run or done. A strange icon appeared where you normally see the "crash" icon next to lap time, and he still went on. I went to regular display and he was limited to 80kph but still going, and made it to the pits where he actually went in. Was a long refuel ;)
He was almost 5 laps ahead before this near-disaster, was still 4 laps ahead when he came out.

The car will be able to make it into the pits even if its fuel tank is 'empty'. As you saw, speed gets severely limited while this is happening. I agree, it's a scary thought. I've only run out of gas once. :scared: Thankfully I was in A-spec mode when it happened.

In B-spec mode, I have run out of fuel five or six times.

Always because I was fooling around with the "pit" icon, or with the re-fueling instructions on the prior pit stop.

If you are low on fuel on the prior pit stop, but request no fuel, then you can run out of fuel on the next lap.

Also, if you turn off the "pit" icon once it comes on, B-spec Bob will drive past the pit, and then the "pit" icon will come back on automatically, but you may run out of fuel before you make it around again.

Also, if you turn off the "pit" icon and then turn it on again too close to the pit entrance, B-spec Bob can miss the pit entrance (perhaps he's listening to music on the radio instead of the pit boss).

None of these things are that bad unless the race is close since Bob will just limp along at 80kph (50mph) as you saw, and pit on the next lap.

Respectfully,

I couldn't figure that one out for ages!:dopey:

Unless you are doing the nurb 24hr and your fuel is empty at Hocheichen,
it can then cause some problems :ouch:
