OK, so here's a strange one, and it's kinda bugging me out since it's probably something simple and I'm being a dumbnut. Normally I'd figure these things out on my own, but I'm at a dead end.

I downloaded a 2.74GB File from a torrent (not illegal, if you must know it's this), which took AGES thanks to my delightfully slow Aussie internet. Point is after the file was downloaded it went to seed mode as usual, I left it seed for a couple of hours. Then click the little magnifying glass to find the file. However it bought up a Finder window and highlighted my Downloads folder (files downloaded from BitTorrent either go into my Downloads folder or directly onto my Desktop, it's a bit temperamental and does what it wants, and I have no problem with it normally)... but it didn't highlight the actual file. So I right-clicked, and clicked on "Show in Finder", the same thing happened. I searched around but to no avail. I have no fricking clue where this file has gone.

I removed the downloaded file from the list and re-clicked the Torrent, which restarted the download. It checked through the file to see how much of it was downloaded, and claimed 100% was downloaded, and immediately began seeding again. So obviously the file is there, it may just be hidden OR I'm blind.

Anyone got an idea as to what's going on here? All help's appreciated.

Search the entire drive for a file lager than 2 gigs.

Try using the find command: from your home directory, it's find . -name Aircraft-2.8

Be aware that Aircraft-2.8 is a directory, not a file, which contains 415 files the largest of which is "only" 100Mb so TB's trick won't work.

A typical name is Douglas-Dc3_20120506.zip; try searching for that filename.

Just out of curiosity, what are these files for? Some sort of flight simulator or something?

If you are running vista or 7.

Type in it name in the start search bar.

I use bit torrent now and then, and when I have finished downloading files I right click them and select "Open Containing Folder" this goes to where ever the file is saved.
