I am know to be a slow af drifter, I drive a Chaser about 95% of my time in GT5. Because of this people started recommending me to get a new faster car, not happening. But after a few months I decided to go and buy my self a BMW. Oh what other well known car manufacture for the drift community than BMW. The 135i, the M3, the Z4, the M5 and lets not forgot of the M3 GTR, all fast cars and some of the cars that everyone in the comunity had drift. But I went for something less, usual. While I was in the standar dealership, Le wild 120d appeared. I loved the look of the car, its one of the few cars in GT5 that have a mean look, bought it, modified it (no hacks) and then reality stroke. The car has one of the weirdest feeling on handling I've ever experienced. Although it was still driftable, the car had this weird feeling. Having to literally be on the throttle a 99% of the time which surprised me since the car has 350hp I believe and still managed to feel underpowered at some points.

What experience do you (community) have with this car? Does tunning can solve this details or is it a "no no" for this car? Looked for information about the 120d in the search botton and I only found useless posts. I love this car and the look it has, it makes me feel like I am part of the All Star European division or something like that

My fastest car is a chaser. Even with it's stock turbo making 390, my 460hp s15 can't keep up. But that's for another thread after more testing.

I used a 120 in gt4 or prologue and loved it. It feels weird but the plateau torque is excellent for drifting. I have one sitting in my garage i'll throw some parts on and give it a go again.

It also depends on what kind of drift style you have. I know I can get my Chaser much faster but I rather average speed and focus on angle.

I did some minimum tuning to my 120d but it only helped a little, maybe with more time I will be able to have a ton better control, for now its a tough car to drift.

The 120d isn't a fast car by any means, and I appreciate that, but it doesn't have the wheelspin that I look for in a drift car. When tuned properly it can be a great deal of fun, just be sure to tune the transmission for its low-range torque peak and adjust your driving style to suit. This shouldn't need saying, but with the number of people I see online using auto for drifting, maybe I should; DO NOT USE AUTO, the shifting engine isn't designed for low-revving diesels.

I drift this car as well. There was just something about trying a diesel that was intriguing. Mine runs fine for the most part, but I get what you're saying. It feels heavier and slower than it really is. I think it's because of that diesel engine.

This thread made me want to try one, i think i'll go and buy one.
I'll report after test, how i feel about it.

After action report :

I think i'm in love.
It lacks just a bit power (50-100 BHP), but otherwise i liked it a lot.
But since i'm one of those who stayed on 2.11, i think i just give
that little extra kick for car what it needs.
And lower it. Obviously. :sly:

Editedit :

120d pushes now 414 BHP and is 80 kg lighter + some minor tuning and now it's perfect
for my driving style. Like it!
