So, being that PD were taking pics of the lightbars only, as far as we know(I have to read what @Jordan typed about PD taking more pics), they may have just decided to leave it as is.
I only saw them taking pictures of the lights. I recall they were inside of the car, but I believe the main goal for that was so the BMW representative could show them the various illumination patterns, and to turn the lights off for the cameras.

I can't say this with any degree of certainty, but I *might* be able to take some small credit for the lights being added to this car. :D The modeling team was hanging around with the rest of the Gran Turismo entourage that was touring the SEMA show floor, then we stopped at the BMW booth. I asked Taku (U.S. GT producer) if the lights would be added to the car in the game - he didn't know, and walked over to the modeling team members to ask about it. They all got concerned looks on their faces and immediately started pulling out their cameras and furiously snapping photos. Taku returned and told me that they were going to photograph the lights right then and start modeling them when they returned to Japan.

I'm sure they probably could have photographed them at another time while they were in Vegas, but I think they had nearly forgotten about the lights! In their defense, SEMA can be very distracting!

I hope this is a joke, otherwise how did they think to add a pace car without the lights? It's umbelievable...

Nice bait, this goes straight to the Ludicrous claims thread. :sly:

Does this mean @Jordan should be considered as a part of the modelling team? PD are interested in hiring new staff anyways, so...

Jokes aside, that is a great story, but the really good part is that you paid attention to that detail and promptly told Mr. Taku about it, therefore warning him and the modelling team about the lights. :)👍 Maybe that's all PD really needs: someone who can keep an eye on specific things while everybody else is working. And although I have never been to SEMA, I do agree that it is really distracting once you get there, with all the lights and shiny tuned cars!

Keep flying that GTP :gtpflag: and helping people when you have the chance. :)

If that means @Jordan should be considered as a part of the modelling team, does that mean Higher Chance for a Premium Supra, E30, Premium 22B and Premium E46?

What a great car, abs off and an awesome braking feel. Handles beautifully std, steps out with ease with TC off and controllable. Dash was fuzzy is the only complaint.

I want to turn it into this!

Of course it's only a Coupe. Hope we get the M3 at some point.

The new safety car is almost awesome! The lights are bright enough to be visible either day or nights. But the only gripe is that we still can't turn them off when se don't need them.

Maybe Jordan could hint the officials of the PD that in real life, safety cars are not always lit up. Instead they turn off the lightbar when not on track.

PLEASE JORDAN.:nervous::bowdown::(:bowdown:

We probably have a better chance at getting an F80 M3 than an E,30 M3. Anyway, i posted in hoping the Safety Car can have a Driver Number to make it look like the Afrox 335i race car.

Wouldn't it be cool if we could adjust the pattern and color for the lights and front leds through the RA menu? Could also be used to turn them off if a dedicated button is not possible.

I think the colour of the lights is good as it is now, but if they'd give us a way to change it, I'd rather they put in the pause menu where the dial colours can be adjusted.

Also, we already have a dedicated function to flash our headlights (mine's on the R1 button), so it would be more useful to program the on/off switch to it, then hide it in the RA menu.

But I just hope they give us the on/off function in some update. I even made .gif animation to illustrate the missing feature. Its few posts above this.
