Borderless tracks

What we need is Le Circuit Sans Frontières :sly:

Maybe we will get this to "bypass" them

I knew that but the TGTT being removed is news to me. :boggled:

Yeah due to T10 and the partnership with Top Gear its been rendered as obsolete in GT6 and removed

I should admit, it was an assumption on my part; considering the large quantities of content TG has started supplying T10 with, the fact that it was mentioned on the previous page, and that TGTT is missing from GT6, it seemed to be a safe bet.

More than likley.

I think this is a new push by PD to feature genuine tracks unaltered by fictional articles. If another racing game modeled the Ascari circuit they would place barriers in the infield design and probably add grandstands and background decorations to make the place look like a music festival.

Yeah that was a take-that to ProStreet/Shift and Forza Horizon.

I think this can only be done with real world circuits. Original circuits have potential for this but that really depends on backdrop design. Off-road circuits have this too but I don't know anything about it for GT6. City circuits are not possible unless it's like in the car trailers using GT5 i.e. Toyota 86/NSX Concept where Rome and Madrid are empty roads.

Hah. On a side note, I'd imagine not placing fictional barriers around the real-world circuits would save a few precious polygons too. It would be nice if PD Would do the same to some of the original circuits too (although most of the original circuit barriers seem to at least have "purpose", in a real-world safety sense) and give Tokyo R246 some damn run-off at the first turn!

I understand the Sarthe Barriers for the chicane course, it's mostly there for gameplay purposes.

Those barriers are totally fair either way because they're there in real life. Of course they'd still be there even if they weren't, but it's an accurate reflection of reality. Suzuka on the other hand obviously doesn't have those barriers there IRL but they're quite necessary in the game to avoid ridiculous shortcuts -- even with an engine cut and time penalty someone could cut that corner on the last lap and win the race. I've seen similar things to this on other tracks where drivers win the race with active penalties and that just cannot happen.

Heck that'd make Eiger more interesting imo, a place where -

*insert dramatic music*
"Every Corner, Could Be Your Last."
*end music*
Or at least it'd make drifting there more exciting.
As well as show who in the lobby doesn't know about that pedal that slows the car.

They need a barrier at The last turn at trail mountain.. In Granturismo1-2 there was a huge grass mound there that would make you lose control.

Then don't drive over the grass mound...

Though I personally enjoy the grass mound there... I'll intentionally aim for it because I find it fun to go flying and then attempt to regain control once I land.

Have anyone ever tried doing that with a X2010/1? If you get perfectly you can actually get it do a barrel roll. The under side of a X2010/1 looks pretty cool.

I would do this a lot, see which car gives the best effect! :P

Some of you are forgetting about the "off track too long - reset to the track" feature we have seen on tracks like Willow Springs.
If invisible walls too close to the track (Top Gear, Toscana, etc...) are really annoying, the teleportation is the silliest and most annoying thing ever! If we can't disable it :grumpy:->:ouch:->:banghead:->

Isn't GT supposed to be realistic (real driving simulator)?
