If you’re wanting new single player content, but just want to jump in and do a few custom races at a time, or even one, maybe this is for you!

There are three new custom races that refreshed every weekday. The previous day’s events will be catalogued in a Google document, linked within a spoiler tag.

The first is a short race.

The second is a medium length race.

The third is long, approaching, or sometimes being an endurance event.

On some days, there will be a fourth event on dirt or snow tracks. Due to the low number of rally tracks in GT7, I thought doing it every day might have it get old fast.

There may occasionally be a fourth (or fifth) event if that event requires a Legend Car. The reason for this is so that, if you don’t have the required car/a car from the year range/required engine type, you can still compete in the three “core” races without needing to grind a ton, or wait for a specific car.

The performance bracket for each race may vary each day. The only set up required is punching in the custom race settings and choosing or tuning a car to meet the PP limit.

The game will fill out the grid with either the “Random” Rivals Selection option, the “One-Make” option, or the “Car Category (Group 1/2/3/4/B)” option, using the Balance of Performance (BoP) option for the latter to ensure competitiveness.

In non-Balance of Performance races, to make races as competitive as possible, once you have entered an event, adjust your car’s fully customisable ECU or power restrictor’s percentage to 96%.

If you’re already at a percentage below 100%, and also below 96%, to meet the PP or BHP limit then I recommend dropping it by a further 2 or 4%.

If you find 4% below your current reduced percentage is too slow, then give 2% below the current percentage a try.

It’s best to do this while in the event pre-race screen so the game doesn’t generate a grid around your reduced PP value, which it will if you enter into the custom race with a reduced ECU/power restrictor percentage.

I recommend entering into the pre-race screen with your ECU/power restrictor percentage already reduced to 96%, for example, to save time with having to move the percentage back to 100, then re-generating the grid in the custom race settings by toggling the “Rivals Selection” option to something else, then back to the setting listed in the event details, then pressing “Start Race” in the custom race settings screen.

Be sure to not adjust any custom race settings after entering the race unless your car’s ECU/power restrictor is at 100%, so that the re-generated grid isn’t based around your car’s lower PP resulting from a lower ECU/power restrictor percentage.

A final note regarding event set-up - any custom race settings not posted in the event details are set to their default options.

Also, a very big thank you to @Diatosta for their incredible fuel consumption spreadsheet, which is a huge help!

With that out of the way, here are the events - the current listed events are the final ones published, for the 5th of December, 2024. They can also be found in the Previous Events document. Also, over time I will update each event to have a logo so it's all uniform.

Symphony.png

Symphony (Short)

  • Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa Reverse (5 laps)

Rare air. Rarer sound. A true icon. Race hard all the way to a top-four finish.

This event does not utilise Balance of Performance. Instead, with your car’s ECU set to 100%, choose the “One-Make” option within “Rivals Selection”.

Once the grid order, driver names, and custom race parameters have been set, enter into the pre-race menu, and then reduce your ECU percentage to 96% before entering the race.

Should you make any custom race settings changes, change your ECU percentage back to 100% beforehand, and then, after the changes, reduce it to 96% once again.

American Elite Series (Medium)

  • Willow Springs International Raceway - Big Willow (12 laps)

It is at least cooler than the searing days, but night brings its own challenges. On a track with no barriers and little in the way of visual markings, in your American Group 3 car of choice, don't let your focus slip - battle your way to a top-eight finish.

X2019 Provocare (Long)

  • Suzuka Circuit - Full Course (35 laps)

As a leading driver, your second place lap in qualifying was expected - with a world class grid eager for any opportunity, convert that to a top-two finish, without dropping below second at any point outside of the pit-stop window.

This event does not utilise Balance of Performance. Instead, with your car’s ECU set to 100%, choose the “One-Make” option within “Rivals Selection”.

I don' t get it. Are you creating online servers or just advising some settings to do offline racing?
Offline custom races that you can set up if you’re bored of the single player experience, but prefer to play offline. Custom races, in my opinion, provide better racing than the main game, it’s amazing what a grid start alone does for the game.

These are something you can set up quick and get a race in, and at the length that works for you.

I tried the Fuji race, and it was pretty entertaining (won with a stock Ford GT on hard), but man, it's so hard to truly enjoy the custom races in this game when you can just see the rubber-banding adjusting the speed of the AI by multiple seconds a lap, lap after lap, in a ham-fisted and usually unsuccessful attempt to try to entertain you. It's a shame because I think even the non-Sophy AI in this game has a lot of interesting behaviors and could race quite well, but it's completely held back by that bizarre behavior.

Glad you found some fun with it! Yeah, it’s not great with the rubber banding, but given what options we have, I still prefer it since the actual racing is better from an overall view of the race compared to the main game. I wish you could truly turn the rubber banding off but PD gonna PD. I really wish we could use the Clubman Cup + AI, or The Human Comedy AI as a new difficulty level, or as the new Professional AI (maybe a new option is best for those who are equal on pace with the current Professional AI).

The Clubman Cup + / Human Comedy AI is pretty fast and by far the best non-Sophy AI GT has ever had. Unless it needs custom pathfinding for each event, I don’t know why we can’t choose it, or why it isn’t a difficulty for all regular races (though chase the rabbit would be extremely unfair with actually good AI, so maybe that’s why, but then just do closer grids. PD do their own thing to the detriment of their own game).

Maybe with enough community-driven events organised in this manner (thanks for this, and the Custom Career Mode, OP), the creators of the game will take note and see what a lot of players are asking for.

At least it may give them some ideas for the next game!

at least there is a car that is on my tail in those custom races. a lapped car allowed me to catch up in the final mins of the 90 min race this morning to the leader to win.

The events for the 10th of October are up! Had some fun making these, hope the unrealistic racing scenarios aren’t too much. If they are, please let me know. I figure it’s worth mixing it up so it doesn’t get a little repetitive. Plus, it’s an opportunity to add in humour through that, which hopefully gives a laugh!

Thanks! Think this is a great idea, along with the full career that was created (on another thread) to recreate what a proper career should look like.

It's a pity that things like this have to be created outside the game, rather than PD doing the work themselves.

You've got hard work to come, to keep coming up with new ideas for every day though. Also, maybe consider excluding the weekends, to give people time to catch up on the week's races?

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, it shouldn’t be something we have to do, but PD gonna PD. They have the parts but refuse to use them. Regarding ideas each day, yeah, it can take a bit of time but if I’m really stuck I check the custom career as there are events for many types of cars, and use one of those types of events. And I didn’t think about not doing weekends so people can catch up, but that’s a good idea. I’ll do that then! Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you for doing this...
It’s no worries, I’m happy to! Hope you enjoy it if you give it a go!

The events for the 14th of October are up! After feedback from @sirjim73, this will now be every weekday, with the weekends off, allowing you to catch up on any events throughout the week if you want to.

We have a fun and different slate today, featuring an electric car race, SUV and pick up truck race, and a Formula X race using the X2019 around Grand Valley South!

had to post this chaotic race to this thread from last night.
  • Broad Bean Raceway (1 hr)

can you tame this fast car but watch out for caution flags while managing your nitrous intake while sliding.

Thank you @Theufcveteran for doing this.

After 2 years playing the game, I'm very close to getting a 100% completion and I have all the cars I want in my garage. So, I could say I'm running out of things to do. Online Time Trials are fun and keep me busy with a new one every week but that's pretty much it.

I always knew custom races would be a good source of fun in GT7 but I kind of lack the creativity and patience to adjust all the parameters and come up with good races.

So, thank you for doing this. Really appreciate it.

The events for the 15th of October are up! Apologies for the delay. Was a bit busy earlier and didn't have any ideas. It is getting harder as the days go on but I'm confident I can keep going with it. There are enough cars and tracks, just need to spend some time going through them to spark some ideas, and also, I need to brainstorm races to be a few days ahead all the time, will do that for sure so I can get back on the 12 PM time.

Five events today, the three usual lengths - supercars, classic F1 cars, and midships in wet weather! Plus, a challenge time trial, and a fantasy event which goes into another universe! I figure I should keep those more unrealistic events to a specific tab so the more grounded events stay in the main three.

Thank you @Theufcveteran for doing this.

No worries, I'm happy to, and thank you for the kind words! Hope you're having fun with the races! We're in a similar position, I haven't finished all the post-launch content yet but I have no drive to because almost all of it is chase the rabbit, start 30 seconds behind. I can't be bothered with it anymore. It isn't fun for me. I enjoy custom races much more.

The events for the 16th of October are up! Again, sorry for the delay. Didn’t get around to planning events last night. That’s on me. Will do so tonight 100%.

Today, we have limited performance trim/professionally tuned cars, the Honda Sports VGT around Spa, road cars against Le Mans Prototypes and Hypercars, and a time trial at Interlagos with the Chiron!

The events for the 17th of October are up!

Today - German coupes on the Tokyo Expressway, Group 3 road cars around Alsace, and a Porsche Cup endurance for the newest GT3 RS!

I'm liking this. Small preview of what's behind the spoiler tags!
Yeah, figured it might be a way to just give a quick rundown, and that way people can quickly see if any of them pique their interest. Thanks for the feedback on it!
What a great idea. Thank you so much for creating this post and sharing the custom races with us.
Thank you for the kind words! Hope you enjoy them if you decide to give it a go!

Today’s events (18th October) will be up a bit later than 12 PM. I have the events planned out, but I’m late getting to bed - my own fault. They’ll probably be up around 3/4 PM UK time.

The events for the 18th of October are up!

Today, we have:
  • An Aston Martin of choice at Grand Valley Highway 1 Reverse
  • The VW Polo converted to a Gr.4 car, going up against native Group 4 vehicles
  • A World Endurance Championship event at the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit, in Group 1 cars!
