Bought Me a Christmas Present!!!

Woohooo I bought a new Gateway computer system this weekend...

Yeah I know I shouldn't be buying stuff for me, but my current Gateway is 2 1/2 years old, and Gateway has great deal right now...

Here is the comparison between the old and new systems (off the top of my head):

Old:
Gateway, Intel P-III, 450 Mhz
128 Memory
Windows M.E.
17" Moniter
4x CD Writer
16X CD/DVD player

New:
Gateway, Intel P-4, 1.5 Mhz
256 Memory
Windows XP Pro
15" LCD Flat Screen Moniter
16x CD Writer
32X CD/DVD player

I can't wait.... I got a crap load of software to, including Mircosoft office, which includes all the programs I need for school!!!

Should be arriving Christmas Eve by UPS!!! WOOHOOO!!!

That's cool! My family has a Dell 8200 series coming any day now. 1.7 Ghz, lots of other cool stuff too.

The one I'm on now is a 1996 Compaq Presario. 166 Mhz, 15 inch screwed up monitor, sound doesn't work, 28.8 connection, IT'S BAD!!

good deals.... all types of promos going on you should shop around... Heck I got a flat screen moniter, and all that other jazz, for about half the price of what I paid for my old system!!!

Congrats, Magic My Gateway is only a year old, but I have a Packard Bell that could probably use some upgrading. The first computer I had that I accessed AOL on had a 2400 modem. That's right- twenty four hundred. You wanna talk about slow... it was horrible!

Well, I didn't even look at the thread, I would have been really depressed My new pc has a 56k modem, so that's what I'll be useing. DSL went up in price, and isn't even in my area yet. Wish I could just have T1, that would be so cool.

My pressario has been though some bad times. Charnoble killed it(thanks dad for staying up late that night on the internet), we did a restart, was ok for a little bit, I downloaded a real player and my dad got POed and when I deleted it my sound car went too, installed a windows 98 upgade, pc crashed, restarted it 5 times in a week, now we have half of windows 98 and none of 95, monitor screen increases the size so that you can't see the top and the bottom and sometimes screen bounces up and down, and this thing costs us over $2000!

The Dell we are getting is only $1500, and we get a lot more.

Now the Dell is 2 days late, and I'm just waiting for it.
