Mr. B,

A blast to drive! A red bullet!

Great job! 👍

EDIT: Under 1 minute is perfectly capable, I almost did it!

I know it is so close to going under a minute, glad you liked it.

Sure did.

Gone try again tomorrow to get under the minute. Im so close to beat it, do you think maybe if removing/reducing the extra ballast will work? Or it will afect the car behaviour? (Along with PP, which will need to be readjusted with limiter)...

Either way, gonna try again tomorrow and let you know... :)

Many thanks. Chat soon.

It might, mostly just liked having a round number, not sure if it will upset the balance although it really should not. It is not that much and it is centered. Give it a go and let me know how it works out.

NOTE: As much as I do not like using Racing Tires on street cars, I do like adding flat floor and turning them into "Touring Cars". This was intended to compete with 530-550pp Touring cars, even though this car does not really need to have the flat floor to handle well. Adding it does act just like having downforce and that is why I installed. Tested at Twin Motegi full course.

Mr. B, regarding the TF160, after many laps in Time Trial using the Seasonal specs, here are the results (DS3 user)

Slowest Lap - 1:02:375
Fastest Lap - 1:00:036 :(

Sadly I reached the max of my driving skills, so with I couldnt beat the minute barrier. Someone with a wheel surely can do it.

Settings changed (from original setup)

  • Ballast added to increase power avaliable (+20kg)
  • LSD - lowered Acc by one (from 11 to 10)
Still and amazing car, a 450PP winner! 👍

👍 Great tune sir!

The car is well balanced, with a bit of rotation needed to throw the car in the apex. Great speed exiting corners and grip to support the power. The most impressive for me was the gearbox. The sync between gears is very well accomplished, fast and precise shiffting, giving a great response to the car.

With all this, managed to pull out a fastest lap of 53:763! :sly:

My congrats Mr. B. :)

Thank you for the info on the MG and the NSX, nice lap times in the NSX (faster than my times:tup:)
Nice to hear you liked them, hope you ran enough races to earn loads of credits:D.

And yes, there is a Flat Floor NSX that snuck in there:sly:

Nah, wheel is on the correct side, not the "right" side. Strange badges for sure, and calling it a GTO did not help either. Now we are getting an SS with a Chevy(bowtie) emblem, but I really would have liked it if PD gave us a G8.

Hopefully PD show a little more love for the GM products on both sides of the Pacific in GT7.
They should at least include the HSV GTS which is an SS with ZL1 running gear.

Yes, our great Aussie invention, the Ute is available in many specs from a base V6 through to a SS V8 from Holden.
HSV have three levels of the Ute called the Maloo including the just announced supercharged GTS :mischievous:
That now has the title of the fastest ute on the planet :D

Very nice indeed, we have not had a GOOD El Camino in the states since the late 80s. Was based on the Monte Carlo SS. Nice car but under powered considering the power output of today. Same engine with slightly less HP than the IROC Z28. We need them and Ford with the Ranchero to make a sports car return, not likely to happen though:(. With all the huge and unneeded SUV's they sell, they would be a nice change, but the SSR did not go over very well.
Thanks for the pics.

Do you mean like Aston Martin with the Lagonda here?

Do you mean like Aston Martin with the Lagonda here?
Yes, something like that only Chevy and Ford would do it better. Wonder if Aston got the idea from Ford during their brief partnership:odd:

And where have you been? Been awful quiet lately, every thing ok?

Summer work got busy and then school started up with a busy start, testing week has arrived so things are starting to ease up. Should get time to work through tunes and a little testing next week. You got a good set of Chevy's sitting there waiting to shred on some tracks too.

FITT Ford Tuning Challenge - Focus ST Reviews!

Another good tune on the '06. A little understeer present if you push too hard and early. Suffered a few meetings with the walls early on, but it'll polish out!

by Lionheart 2113:

Time: 1:00.927

Review: Nothing wrong with the tune itself, just seems to want to spin the tires more on takeoff. Get that power to the ground and this tune would be Tune of The Week material. Was always fastest through the first turn.

by gtmetcrisis:

@@Bowtie-muscle – 2006 Time: 1:01.878 DC 9.5
Another great car here Bowtie-muscle. If it wasn’t for the wheel spin it would had been perfect. Had a lot of fun with this car.

by DolHaus:

@@Bowtie-muscle – 1:01.057

Stable and consistent but a little bit too restrained for me. Very easy to drive for the most part, had a bit of understeer on exit and was easy to upset if you took too much curb. Good power delivery on exit with minimal wheelspin.

by Otaliema:

@@Bowtie-muscle

Stock Lap time;1:02.772 Lap time;1:02.065 DC; 9.2
Impressions of tune;Fantastic tune balanced, good entry through exit all turns. I set the fast lap on lap 3! I just couldn’t match my line again I know there is a 1:01 in this car I hit a wall :( on the 1:02 lap just a tap but I could never quite get that magic line back again. I did find the car was very light on it’s feet, the rear tires went ice cold after 8 laps and the car become very slick at that point. Recovery was very good if I cooked an entry.

by ImToLegitToQuit:

@@Bowtie-muscle 1:01.121 - DC.8 - An interesting car. From the first lap to the last lap I was consistently under 1:01.4 even with mistakes. It did not like going past its grip limit but it behaved perfectly right up to that point. In the first corner with most cars I had to toss in and let the FF sort everything out. With yours I could set it up like I was in a FR car. Good car.

by Motor City hami:

@@Bowtie-muscle – 2006 101.149 DC 9.7
I ran ½ of a lap, hit pause and wrote this, “I really like this tune. This is even better than my 2006 tune. I hope that my lap times are worthy of this car.” The rest of the drive was great too. I could really settle into a rhythm and just run laps. Very well done. Two suggestions that might make it even faster. First, rear damper compression is kind of low. This setting works very much like running high front damper extension. If you run a high rear DC it will keep weight from transferring to the rear mid corner through exit, essentially further reducing exit understeer. Second, the LSD initial torque may not need to be this high on a FF at this power level. Test a few numbers in the 8 to 12 range. Nice tune.

NOTE: This was an alternate tune for the FITT Ford Tuning Challenge, could not get this car faster than the '06 but it was only 2-3 tenths slower. A good tune that may work better at others tracks. I will be doing a Custom trans for this car soon which should help exit as this car has just a little too much wheel spin which is where I think the 2-3 tenths are getting lost. the rules called for a 6 speed non-adjustable trans.

Wasn't the original design of the Ute meant to enable the wife to go to church on a sunday and the farmer to take the sheep the market on a monday? Looking at this car, the wife will probably throw up due to the over zealous driving and the sheep will most likely suffocate under that pickup cover... It all makes sense now, neither the wife of the sheep want to go in it so the bloke can just go nuts and have fun. Excellent plan! :)

That is basically the idea of the SSR, 2 seater Sportscar feel with a bed. Too small to actauly haul anything significant and with a heavy cover over the bed. But it did have a drop top! Not a big seller, more of a niche vehicle.

You're right Shaun, a farmer's wife from my home state, wrote to Ford Australia in around 1934 suggesting a car that would keep them clean on the trip to church and also serve the farmer well taking stock to market. Not sure if they ever carted sheep but I wouldn't be surprised.
Many a tradie's dog has travelled with him to work for company in the back keeping guard of the tools.

Bowtie, the SSR probably would've done well here with the retro styling & if it had one of the larger LS motors to counter the weight. That thing goes all right with a bit of coin spent in the right areas.

I am surprised it did not sell better to be honest, unfortunately, Bigger trucks the size of freight trains were more desirable. Like the Ram in game, 4 door 4 wheel drive with an 8 foot bed! Put that on a lift and get under it as it seesaws. Not really comfortable, and women around here sometimes us them as daily drivers. They cover the beds and never put anything in them. People make little sense sometimes.

I've never understood America's obsession with huge items or trucks as you like to call them. We've got a similar thing with SUVs. Never see them with mud on the tyres. Hardly practical, economical or easy to park in shopping centres.
Doesn't make it easy to see ahead following one of these giants in traffic either.
