Aids make driving easier.... but usually slower for good drivers. How then is SRF classed as an aid if it slows your lap times?
I think it's the same as Indy cars...
I turned ABS = 0 & then SRF was OFF
If I left ABS on then I wouldn't be able to turn SRF off. (DFGT)
Yes it is, I always drive with ABS=0 and SRF is off, otherwise my imprezza in the Nurb challenge could not slide as it did with my medium sports tires, not to mention the "drifting experience" as it is Eiffel with the RX7.
ABS=0 means ASM and SRF off as far as I can tell, why the game is configured like this, do not ask me...
Could anyone please double check and confirm?
You don't know any more about this than anyone else.
Instead of calling people names which is against forum rules, maybe try forming a post that expresses your opinion without sounding like a troll? Is that too difficult? Or is that too much to ask?

It's the 3rd rule on the list. Do you think calling a thread full of GTP forum members discussing a race setting "whiners" violates that or any other forum rule?
Oh, and don't tell me how to play GT5, I'll play it anyway I want to. It's none of your business if I want to use SRF or any other setting. If people want to talk about it and you don't like it, quit reading the thread.
I didn't "thread jack", you did. I responded to your blanket insult. Next time I won't respond, I'll just report you I guess. You do know better?
I'm not trying to start anything, people complain and whine about this game. PD spent 6+ years developing the game, pushed release dates much to the chagrin of every GT fan boy, including myself.
They finally release it and everyone complains, the general forum is plagued with complaints instead of constructive criticism (generally speaking, where applies). GT obviously was released as a sort of rough product; this time around they get to provide updates, fixes, and FREE additional content and they've done a few times already since the release.
Before you go throwing the AUP and name calling malarkey, make sure you aren't doing the same by calling me a troll.
You also, thread jacked. Good job.
whiners. I doubt this is going to be a permanent fixture in the BRs... Remember the BRs are PD created with the idea of providing a different type of driving experience outside of the norm you guys are probably accustomed to.
Just play what they give you. Its been different every time, whiners.

I didn't call you a troll either, read harder.
Calling everyone "whiners" IS STARTING something, is flaming, does sound like "trolling", and is probably against AUP.
You would think that for a game promoting itself as a driving simulator the reverse would be occuring; ie having events where it is mandated that the SRF is off. Otherwise, how are some people ever going to learn ?
Did anyone notice that the '07 350Z exhaust sounds wierd? like it's cutting out a bit?
I always play with abs set to 0.. SRF is still on in those races where it is set to "on" and gray'd out. If you are saying that setting abs to 0 turns of SRF even where it is forced on, I disagree. Not sure if that's what you are trying to say or not.
Thanks for your feedback, to be honest I did not feel the SRF enabled in some of the events, sure I was wrong as I read from other people besides you that ABS=0 has no affect on SRF. My imagination I guess...
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=159986&page=8#post4885737I was hoping that "ABS 0" trick will remove SRF too, but it didn't work, it just removes ASM.
... SRF is not forced in every seasonal (of the few I tested, only the latest Roadster/Miata event was).
This isnt too bad, though still wacky (probaly a mistake?)...
