Brabus Rocket (C219) 2006

The first generation Brabus Rocket is a supercar based on the C 219 version of Mercedes-Benz CLS.
In the 2006 Tune It Safe! program created by German Federal Traffic Ministry and the Association of German Automobile Tuners (VDAT), Brabus unveiled a police car version of CLS V12 S Rocket, and quickly became the most publicized of any of Brabus' designs.
The engine was modified from a 5.5L V12 engine block (Mercedes-Benz M275).
In 2006, the Brabus Rocket set a world record speed for the world's fastest street-legal saloon (and for that matter, any car owned by a police organization), with 365.7 km/h (227.2 mph), on the track in Nardò, Southern Italy.

I have reason to suspect that Brabus is actually the name of a German loony-bin, that would explain why cars like this exist.
