Yesterday, I watched the replay of K. de Bruin.
I know that these aliens are capable of anything, but frankly I do not see where it would be possible to earn 0.100 compared to its lap.
The braking at the Good Year chicane is very late and the traction on exit very good.
At the chicane della Roggia, go beyond and I think it’s a invalidated lap.
Lesmo 1 is at the edge of the curbs.
Lesmo 2 touches the curb and the exit is wide.
The Ascari variant is insane (without TCS) !
There may be variations to the Curva Parabolica but I have a doubt.
I hope it stays that way.
I always find the WR laps are generally a work of art, K De Bruin especially as he has a really nice smooth driving style; sometimes it seems like the track limits are not possible but they are on the last millimetre of legal tarmac… the skill level is off the scale. It’s an honour following people like this and we are lucky enough to have world top 10 drivers like @Metalgear9493 and @jontikis to follow on various TTs. An absolute privilege

(hello from Kazakhstan, I’ll be back Sunday)

It would appear that I am relegated to the poor side of the alien adjacent neighborhood on the appliance time trial.

I wish my list looked like yours 🤣

But yeah, 9 players within the span of not even a tenth, crazy. There's no "poor side" to be found here, this list could be in any order.

Something's off with your screenshot btw, it's barely legible, at least with the dark theme.

Get in there!!!!! nice result with the IONIQ even if they forgot to put on the brakes on this car 🤣
In the last chicane i went ALL IN and gained a tenth, all or nothing!! 💣🏁

I need to find a better way to deal with the site's software. Before I tried to use html in an attachment, but it wouldn't allow it. Knowing this, I have been just using picture type attachments. I tried to use just plain text for the list I created, but the site kept wiping out the formatting. The result that I posted was print to pdf, convert to jpeg and post the picture. At the end of the fight, I just accepted the result. Next time I try and do something, I'll pick a better font or something.

Regards,
Ken

If you use full lock, the steering will "stick" in that position. So, if you use high sensitivity, the steering gets to full lock faster and takes an age to wind off, making chicanes impossible. That leaves you trying to find the balance between having a fast enough steering response to make the corner without horrible understeer vs hitting full lock and getting that horrible delay in the lock coming off. There have been several challenges where I think pausing to change the steering sensitivity part way around the lap may have been worth a try.
Used this advice and managed to improve some more. I'm still struggling with the steering "sticking" during chicanes/esses, but this advice certainly helped

It's been a while since I did a TT. Not enough time to work at them, so I've been just knocking out the weekly races and that's about it.

I was super excited for the I5N, but the lack of a manual mode and F-R torque adjustment took a lot of wind out of that sail.

Of course a 4,600lb car needs SH tires and the tightest track on offer! It's strange how this thing "decides" to shift power to the rear in some cases, and understeer in others, and the brakes... whoo boy, I have to press the pedal deeep into the bumpstop to get this thing to slow down.

I'm still miles off pace, but was surprised to see where I landed on the leaderboard. Thought a mid-37 would be way farther down.

There's time to find, but I don't know if I'll get around to it.

As always, you guys are FAST here! GTP players continue to exist at the top of the charts! Keep up the quick work guys.

I know many of you guys focus on Monza and are largely ignoring the IONIQ TT, but honestly I really enjoy it. It's just a very relaxed drive (especially compared to the F3500 madness). Yeah, the car is heavy and the brakes are weak, but it's also very predictable and at the same time complex enough for a good practice of precise and smooth inputs.

Plus my hypothesis is that whatever comes next tomorrow will immediately grab the attention of most players (including mine, as usual 😉), so a good placement now will hopefully carry over until the end of the event 🤞

So here we are:

Enough for top 100 already? Maybe. The S2 split of 1:03.455 was my best ever, with a very good S3 this could even have been a mid to low 1:36.6. But let's not get greedy.

@Gomario JSP too bad you can't really compete with that battery drop off glitch of yours, you had so many promising attempts already. FWIW, this has never happened to me a single time, maybe it's really a controller issue somehow? Although apparently others were affected by this as well, including wheel users. 🤷

Also just to repeat once again: if you're using a wheel and are annoyed by the need for constant overtake, map it to the upshift paddle. Feels very comfortable and natural.

Happy lapping friends, CU at the next event! Let's hope for @Barareklam 's sake (and mine as well, although for very different reasons) that it's not on dirt or snow ;)

Hi everyone.
Been a rough two weeks for me. It's tax season and I'm drowning. Also been out with the nastiest summer flu that won't leave 🤧

Wow this Monza TT is tough. I started on Monday evening with a time of 1:25.851. On Tuesday evening I dropped that time by 2 10ths.

This is me for now. My optimal times are closer to gold but still far away. Throwing in the towel here.

I struggled a lot harder than I usually do here.

Glad to see your name on the board. Keep swimming!

How it started:

How its going:

Didn't really get to give the F3500 a proper go as I had a really busy week. As you can see, had to stay up a little late to get the lap in (time is AM not PM). About 20km in, I was 1 millisecond away from gold :odd:, after another 120km and 30 minutes, I had what I hope is a safe gold.

Definitely left a lot of time on the table here, optimum was a .3 but even those sectors weren't that good.
My biggest trouble here was the kerbs and track limits. This car does not like riding kerbs at all, which is kind of required to get a good lap time here. Any slight deviation from the optimal line through the kerbs will cause it to be a pogo stick. In particular I had significant trouble with the second chicane and Ascari.
Also for some reason was having trouble getting the turn in right for the second Lesmo. On my best lap, this cost me probably 2 tenths just in that corner alone. I may have been braking too late or not trail braking sufficiently.

Didn't have too much trouble with the wheel spin, just exiting in 3rd/4th gear on most corners was enough to control that. Was able to run with no assists other than ABS and only had a few spins, but mostly they were after I'd already made a mistake hitting a kerb or going wide anyway.

At least the car looks and sounds phenomenal, but definitely not something you can just jump in and drive. Would've been nice to give this a bit more of an attempt, but oh well, onto the Ioniq!

Cheers for the mention.

I have a very different way of approaching a TT. I try and solve it with mathematics. This means I never drive by 'feel'.

I use speed readings during corners. Registering these readings on the fly enables me to turn the wheel extremely precisely to minimise unwanted understeer, the ultimate lap time destroyer.

I have been vindicated! My team laughed when I said I did this. Though I'm clearly not as quick as you at it, it is satisfying to know that, during a corner at speed X, I can open the wheel up X much at X point. Glad that others do the same!

lol, never underestimate the aliens.

So close, yet so far!! Ran a stint in this car but ended the evening in silver. Came back to fight another day. This time was a gold time yesterday, but alas, it's oh so short today... 0.053!

Not sure if I'll have time to come back for one more try before the clock expires later.

This one was tougher than I thought it would be!
