Brilliant Racing Videos

Francois Hesnault had the first on-board camera during a Formula One race for the 1985 German Grand Prix. It wasn't the first on-board camera, there are numerous examples from the 1970s in practice sessions such as Patrick Depailler's masterclass in the rain at Montreal, but this was the first one during a race.

Hesnault was entered by Renault in the Grand Prix specifically to run the camera car and it was the last time a team ran three drivers in one Grand Prix.

The best bit was when they casually chatted to the drivers during the race.

Dick Johnson was the best at having a casual chat as he raced against Australia's best Touring Car drivers.
He could also deliver some of the funniest one-liners thanks to his dry sense of humour.

I think Lakeside was one of worse tracks to talk to the drivers.
It's always enjoyable to look back at the races they had there, especially the Group A category
No aero to speak of in comparison to the Supercars, so they moved around so much.
The drivers really earned it in those days.
