My ride is a 1983 Chevy Monte Carlo SS with a 350 SBC in it. Modifications include a B&M Megashifter connected to a 700-R4 transmission mated to a 4.10 rear gear with a posi trac rear end. The engine has a Comp cams custom grind solid-lift cam in it, it has an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake on it, and finally there is a NOS Sniper system on it jetted to 150hp. Other than that the car is stock. It's fastest time is an 8.70 1/8th mile @ 82mph UPDATE: We are in the process of some repairs to the car during the off-season to prepare it for the season opener on the first weekend of March!

Great car btw and considering how heavy it probably is your 1/8 times are pretty solid. Before you put the new motor in you should see what that little 305 does on a 100 jet. Oh get video too :D.

That's pretty damn good for a little 305 that's mostly stock. Thumpr cam woke that thing right up. I wonder what a 100 shot would make it run. What's your weight? My buddies Supra is making about 350whp at 3,400lbs (not including driver) and ran a best of 8.2.

Update time everyone, This past Friday (not yesterday) The Monte ran an 8.71 at 80mph on a 50 shot of nitrous with 22"pipe extensions connected to the headers. Also @Slash it weighs 3650 with me in the car

Update on the Monte Carlo, the 350 sbc was put in earlier this Spring and much to my dismay/surprise it ran an 8.70 on motor, one thousandth quicker than the old 305 was on nitrous. We had a decent season with the car at Brainerd Optimist Dragstrip making it to the semi-finals on a handful of occasions. The last event we ran was one of their weekly bracket racing programs where sadly the torque converter ballooned which in turn burnt the transmission out and warped the flexplate. So the car sat in my driveway until we got the money to fix the transmission and get a new torque converter. Well, that didn't exactly happen....instead we purchased a new solid lift cam, aluminum heads, stainless steel rocker arms, aluminum stud girdles and all the other valvetrain parts, and boy does it sound sweet! Up next on the list is the new TCI Super Streetfighter torque converter, hi-po IHRA regulation flexplate, transmission rebuild kit and a neckbreaker shift kit. New lettering including my name, number, class designation, and new team logos will be here tomorrow, so I will post pictures of that when it's ready, but in the meantime, here is the video of the last race it ran, tree'd the 'vette off the line however the carb stumbled and he was able to catch back up and we went by the line neck and neck!

The lettering came today, however it's raining so I can't apply them today, I did put the helmet lettering on, the cars lettering is a holographic blue with a chrome outline .

Damn. I can't believe I never saw this car till now. Clean G Body! Any idea how much of a shot you'll be using with the 350?

I will start out with a 150hp shot and go from there because it's a stock bottom end engine and I don't want to put too much pressure on it.

BIG Update on the monte carlo. Roll cage has been added, racing seat, five point harnesses, MSD 6AL ignition box, front skinny drag tires, removed heater box, had to buy a new shifter because the knob fell off the old megashifter and took the threads with it....enter Stealth Magnum Pro Grip from B&M. I purchased a new trailer as well, it's a 20'x7' steel decked dovetail with extending ramps, tandem axles with brakes, and also added a winch and battery box to it. After much thought, I have decided to alter my team name from Stage-B Racing, to Be Rad Motorsports (Since my name is Brad, I thought it was a funny play on words) Also have a website now! stagebracing.com284910_1048693468528293_1121483831609475426_n.jpg 942517_1055533567844283_2288967540747682106_n.jpg 10399615_1057640190966954_8850437836001556592_n.jpg 12472788_1064980776899562_7279741452746295803_n.jpg 12494774_1062925077105132_720475409299878631_n.jpg 12524429_1062912633773043_6154958623386969424_n.jpg 12801691_1065633276834312_309340286851832450_n.jpg 12803282_1056480304416276_3985675746337186929_n.jpg
