BTCC Season 2 is ON - Sign ups OPEN

D-Max
Again lads, I'll get A room up tonight. Relatively easy day in the garage and on my way home as we speak. Stuck in traffic though and havent moved for 5 minutes :/... Thought i'd pop on. I'm A bit miffed that theres high chance I won't get the RWD but if push comes to shove I'll just use A teggy or something...

Won't be on tonight mate, personally I'm cool with you using the BM but 3 teams (6 people) should be the max

As for the teggy Kammy and Mole are using that and as per my first post me and jack pretty much are. Just gotta do abit more testing with that and the Mazda tho

See the last season i'm glad the BMW's had a better start than the rest because it was so hard to race against the honda's but i must admit. FF car's don't really have a chance, but don't limit the BMW's to much. Keep it very fair.

It was just a case the BMW was harder to tune, now you've sussed its it's not to bad! BMW doesn't need any more regs applied, you just need to lower the FFs slightly to even it out more!

Anyone know what weight the BMW ran at last season? Want to compare the difference in weight between the BMW and the Integra this time around.

I mean i don't no. Setting up the FF are a bit different. Well more testing for tonight and let's actually race for real now. Don't jump right into a race. Have 30 minutes practice ect then see what's what. Lower the FF? what?

A mission for the FF's ;)

and Andil it's 1250kg

How about a seriously restricted M3? Or the standard 330i? Or even the 320 touring car with restrictions?

Or.... Anything else 4 door and rear drive?

Really geting anoyed with all this arguing.
Man up and use a FF car.
Jimmy has the 4th BMW as he was the first wanting it.

Might not be around too much this week.

As we discovered last night, too many RWD cars means the start line advantage is just silly - we'd currently have about 1/4 of the grid being RWD, which makes that advantage good but not ridiculous for the FF cars. If we have any more, an FF car who qualifies on pole will end up way into the middle of the pack just off the start line (as happened last night - P2 to P6/7 by turn 1 for me!) and that's hardly cool. Just man up and use an FF car, why's it such a problem?

I just dont see why adding another rwd is a problem , i dont like fwd cars. At the end of the day i've lost abit of interest in this series so im probably not gonna compete...

It appears that most drivers cannot cope with understeer.... No offense... but properly tuned, an FWD is a match for a RWD and also easier to control.

Masi_23/GTP_Masicampo
Honda Civic Type-R (a shot in the dark - haven't done any testing)
Color (undecided)

So it's basically between the Volvo and the Focus for me.

Just a quick question: Is it possible to sign up by yourself, or do you have to have a team? Because right now, I'd sooner go at it alone.

I can cope fine with fwd's, just rwd is more fun to race in...
I dunno if you remember kamy, but we all set up this series, our team is sponsering it.
That means that if we make a request, it would be polite if you took it into consideration ;)

you can go alone...

Dear Kamy,

Can we please drop the weight of the Integra to 1250kg? That would be 50kg higher than we ran last season. Last season we were 50kg lighter than the BMWs, so at the 1330kg in the spec sheet, we've eaten a lot of pies over the break and put on 130kg, tis too much considering the BMWs were keeping up fairly well anyway! At 1250kg we'll match them but will be 50kg heavier than previously, they remain at the same as they were last season, so have only gained on us.

Myself and Jimmy just ran a good 10 laps together at GVE, him in the BMW and me in the Integra. At 1250kg there is no difference down the straight at all between the cars, and we ran 10 laps nose to tail without slipstream, no problem. He did a 1:08.306, I did a 1:08.345 - with 1330kg I only managed a low 1:09.

Some more testing would be awesome though, but it certainly seems a lot better - can actually keep up!

This.

Drop teggy to 1250 and the other FFs to maybe 1200/1220 then I think it will be even.

:)

Kammy, speaking as an assistant organiser here,

The BMW will need to be restricted, but only within reason.

We should add another RWD, as they are so much more preferable to drive, but only if it's not a BMW, some variety in the grid would be much appreciated, as it was there last season.

If you guys can find another premium, well matched car then yes, I suspect it will be allowed in.

Chris.. I don't know what your on about but the 135 doesn't need pinched.. If so the Teggies will walk all over everyone.. Yeah Chris good idea...

Not sure how much it will change through more practice, but it's hard to say that the 135i's didn't completely dominate.

Just seen the GT5 Spec II news,

What do we think about starting the series when that has been released (Oct) then maybe adding some extra dates to the series in the hope that the DLC will have new tracks?? (or waiting to see if there are new cars that are eligible?)

Great news tho :)

Agree'd, or even start the series, and have a mid term break when everything is launched (if anything new is added that we can utilise) would be cool
