Hi guys.

Need a wheel for GT 5 and want to drift with it now before I begin

I know a lot of people are going to say Logiteh Driving force pro/GT etc etc but at the moment i dont want to bomb £100 plus on a wheel yet until im happy with what im doing and want to upgrade.

Been looking at several wheels.

Logic 3 Top drive wheel
Thrustmater Ferrari GT experience
Super Sports 3x Wheel
Atomic TVR Sports Racing Wheel

Out of those which stands out as the most GT 5 and ps3 friendly and drift friendly also..

Cheers guys.

Logitech Driving Force Pro.
For the money it is by far the best thing you will find. The setting to lock the steering at 200* is an awesome way to learn drifting and the FFB feels really good.

Oh wait? you said no to the DFP...
Then i suggest a Logitech Driving Force or Driving Force EX. 200* max rotation and fully supported by GT5 (for some reason.) You should be able to pick one up for literally nothing, too.

I haven't used any of the wheels in your list at all. Never heard of any of them except the Thrustmaster...

I googled those wheels for you mate, and if you are just starting and not sure if you will be sticking to GT5 they probably aren't a bad option. they're cheap price make such an acquisition less of a risk, as you aren't likely to lose money on one if you decide your sick of GT5 in a months time. They will work fine and be much more fun then a DS3. but after a few months you may find yourself wishing you just bought a Logitech one.

Just googled that Driving Force EX and found that it is around £80.. Since when is that literally nothing??

It is considering you get a very good wheel many people use and say is very good value for money.

Cheers guys guess ill get a DFP

Although whats confusing is the economy of all this, ive seen DFEX'S DFP go on ebay for more than a DFGT new..how confusing

One thing troubles me however, ive watched videos and the logitech makes that awful..belt noise? its horrible and will completely ruin the experience

Like this video here of a DFP..once you turn over a certain degree it makes that horrible noise

The Thrustmater Ferrari GT experience isnt even recognized as a wheel by the game, but that can give you an advantage for drifting since I've heard a lot of people prefer the analog stick to the nicer wheels.

Ironically, it does have a very short turn ratio, but I'd prefer that over the 900 degree wheels which is why I won't buy one.

I got one for my dad for $30 new at Costco (only one I've seen), which makes it hard to say its not worth it.

Yeah erm im not going to bomb £200 odd on a wheel just yet when i have to pay uni fees, living in general and pay insurance on my car which is a joke
