Burns and Solberg

I understand there's a bit of talk Richard Burns might be heading back to Subaru next year, and Petter Solberg might be swapping over to Peugeot for 2004 as well.

Anyone else hear anything on this? I understand most of the Peugeot drivers come off contract at the end of this year.

News to me. I only wish that the Speed Channel would become available in a cable package that cost less than $50 a month. I won't part with my broadband, and I won't boot over $100 a month for cable and internet. ~sighs~

It does seem like the WRC drivers jump around quite a bit.

I've heard a slightly different version of that story.

What i've heard is that Burns will return to Subaru next year and will be Solbergs teammate again.

And all of these things are being publicly denied by the people concerned. Therefore I would say that there's some truth to the matter.

Just got word that Solberg and Phil Mills have signed a new contract with Subaru, keeping them there until the end of 2006.

Indeed. Subaru have now publicly stated that they intend to build the team around Solberg. I have to say that that's their best plan. Burns going back would be a reterograde step for the team.

But then I'm no fan of Burns, so that may be colouring my view.
