Need some help getting more out of my set up.

Background.

I just bought and installed the Buttkicker starter sim pack. It has 2 LFE SE's and a Dayton Amp.

I fab'd up some heavy duty steal brackets and mounted them to my obutto.

Got it all hooked up, PS3 set for dual audio out, and turned on GT6.

I could barely feel it move at max volume on the amp.

Troubleshot and nothing impacted too much. Changed over and played some music and the bass was rattling the thing like I thought it should. Back to GT6 and back to real muted performance.

Best performance was by connecting the ps3 to an old Bose receiver, the receiver to the amp and maxing volume on both. Then in the game menu I turned game effects volume to 120.

It was better but, I guess I thought it would rattle my teeth like it does with music.

Am I just limited by the sound quality in GT6? Or should I try hooking it up a different way?

Any help to maximize the performance is appreciated.

I would check your settings on the PS3 audio output (not GT6) and make sure it is set up to produce the extra audio output you need.

Which setting exactly?

It is set up for dual output (HDMI and Component).

As stated with music playing from the PS3 they work awesome and hit hard, it is just in GT6 they are muted.

I am wondering if maybe finding a way to jack up the line input to the buttkicker amp would help.

I have read that thread before thanks.

My Amp is 75W for each channel at 4ohms.

One thing I did notice that when I changed the low pass from 0-100hz to 0-150hz it picked up a lot more sounds.

I am wondering if maybe the game is just putting out the majority of low end into the 100-250hz range.

As stated it has enough power with music with good base so the system is capable.

I really don't understand what the problem could be. Your set up is very similar to mine and I get lots of feedback. Strange.

I very recently added a Buttkicker to my system, clamping it to my swiveling driving chair. Initially, I was disappointed, and then rearranged the clamping position, which made a huge difference.

It's still on a side member of my chair, but instead of pulsing fore and aft, it's now sticking out like a wing to the side of the chair, imparting, in effect, a rotary motion. Given that this is a swiveling chair, I get a lot of tactile sensation through my body.

It helps that I have a 15" subwoofer behind the chair too. My wife says I should get a second Buttkicker for the other side of the chair. I think she's correct.

The Buttkicker has made a HUGE difference to the immersiveness of the GT6 experience.

I have been meaning to follow up. I bought a Rolls RP221 Bottom feeder.

It has a low pass filter and a bunch of controls to enhance bass for DJ's etc. But man does it work for transducers too.

Best part is a phase shift where it takes all freq under the low pass cuts them in half and blends back into the original audio. I could probably use it to dissassemble my obutto now if I crank it up.

I was able to turn my Amp down from full to about 1/3 and still have awesome performance. And I mounted it under the seat so I can adjust it for different games and even cars as needed.

I went from very disappointed with my buttkicker set up to amazed and will never play a game without it now.

At some point I will make a post about my whole set up.
