Cadillac CIEN '02

Everyone knows it-the god of non-racecars. The 2002 Caddilac CIEN. Who has success stories? Maybe failure stories? Strengths? Shortcomings? Any other non-racecars you thought were better? What I'm saying is, what's your take on a car that can attain almost 250 MPH?

There are a lot of cars like this: Zonda, Maclaren SLR, TVR Cerbera Speed 12, Nardo, Cizeta, Ford GT etc... I don't think that Cadillac is better than any of these - it's just a powerful car. You can win a lot with it, but it's not very enjoyable to drive, poor handling, long shifting times... I'd take a Zonda :)

In my opinion, its extreme speed is very useful (duh) but its very high shift time and requiring you to nearly freeze to turn is pretty bad. However, that being said, I find its generally quick enough to blow past the competition in time for the handling to not be much of an issue. But that's just me. I've been hoping to try out a Zonda, I just need a lil' more credits. I have 300k.

But I digress... By far, the biggest shortcoming is the shift time. Pretty cruddy there. One this that's really refreshing is to drive the CIEN, and then switch to the Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac, which has pretty epic handling and shifts like there's no tomorrow.

I used to use it anytime I could. In most of the tarmac Special events, along with Professional League races a lot - everytime it just brought extremely easy victories. Nowadays I don't touch it unless I can find proper competition. The Renault Clio gets the job done in Tuning Car Grand Prix, NA Sports Models and other races much nicer. I always despised the Cien's handling, braking and slow shifting, but still went with it because it reached such high speeds. o_O

My Cadillac has near perfect steering and still retains its speed, however i cant do anything about the speed of the gear changes. All i did to improve the steering is put a spoiler on it and adjust the downforce, this also improved the speed a little as well i think, but since doing that ive never had the spin out of control, i can get it to drift round corners with ease making cornering sharper than most cars in the game and faster.

Meh, if you get it early in the game by doing one of the special condition races you can just smash everyone extremely easily, and it doesnt steer that well, takes ages to shift gears and the many people just get easy money by using it in the capri rally (i think its that one) to win the toyota rally car and then sell it for $265,000, ruins the game being able to get a powerful car like the Cien so early in the game.

Just because you can get a powerful car like the Cien doesn't mean that you have to use it in every single race that you enter.

I just hate this car. Like the above posters say, the shift is terrible, and it has such a bad engine noise. My pick would be a Dodge Viper GTS or the Saleen 7.

I don't like it that much the the reasons said above, but if I remember correctly all you need is an A License and pretty much any car that has about 230HP the win the event for the CIEN, so it can be nice to have early on. I hated how you couldn't use it in some events because it isn't a production car, but on the same race the CIEN might be in the lineup -_-.

I got it pretty early. Beat the race with it in a stock Sileighty, it was fun racing a rear drive Silvia against the 4WD Celica in noth directions. It seems like a good car. Love the rush of 750 horses back there. And it doesn't handle half bad. The shifting is too slow though. Must... get... clutch... Will have a more in depth time with it later.

I have to agree that the transmission is awful. Fully tuned, the sifts take almost as much time as the acceleration between the shifts, and there is nothing you can do about is.

Yeah the tranny is crap. I won't bother with the engine. Or liking the car at all. After that stupid driving mission, I dropped this crap after the MR Challenge. I'll stick with Nismo 400R, thank you very much.

The second fastest concept in the sim. fastest in the nurburgring. If there was faster gears and a lighter shell this would be the fastest car here.and the wheels would be like the speed 12.so look on the good side you are luckey to have grip at all.verry good car indeed

These car's brakes are fail. I came into the pits while driving at the test track and it drove past the pit crew because of it's **** brakes LoL

Prolly by the time i get out of 1st gear, i'd have a beard, thats how slow the shifts are with the Cien... I'd rather have my all time favorite.... The Nissan skyline GTR R34, or the 1993 nissan silvia S14 with stage 2 exhaust
