Activision''s new release of Call of Duty has people feeling stealthy. Maybe that is just me but it sure may have gotten people buying more Dogs. Now I do not own the game but from other people who have it (Friends, Youtubers, MLG Pro Players), it has a very similar feel to Modern Warfare 2. If that is what you like then you may like Ghosts, that is if you can ignore CoD bugs and glitches. Now on to the parts people actually want to see.

*Note to people, you die very fast so play accordingly.

So this is the official Ghosts thread? Not the Modern Warfare 4 thread? I plan to rent this eventually to check out the campaign. Not really interested in the mp. Grew out of that many years ago .

So im guessing quickscoping/no scoping is officially a feature now? i'd be fine with this if my handgun fired rpg's, I mean why not implement that if you're not gonna make an accurate representaion of a firearm

The reviews aren't that positive.

Another review, based on the PC version:

It's not terribly enjoyable but I have been playing in a lot of laggy games. It's tough to enjoy it when you fire an entire clip into a guy's back only to have him turn around and kill you and when you watch the kill cam you haven't fired a single shot.

The dog is seriously infuriating.

Got it earlier and played a few online matches and everyone on blitz just attacks leaving your portal unguarded so you lose the game.

Started out with a few good matches then have preceded to be awful but occasionally have a good game

I think like all COD games that comes out every what year? It's pretty much the same thing just a different set of maps and whatnot.

Yup sounds like all the other COD games. Hacked at launch, major lag problems, and lots of people unhappy. Not even sure if I will rent this now. How is the campaign? Which is all I am interested in.

Awesome job on the thread Mike!
I folded yesterday and bought the game... So far loving the story, like every Call of Duty the stories are great. On the game play side, some people will say it is a bit too easy and it may be true but so far I am really enjoying it!
Multiplayer... Only done 1 game on Hardcore TDM and well it's pretty much the same as the past 3 COD games which was expected. I really haven't gotten down to creating a class or loadout or whatever they're calling it now.
Bottomline, the game should provide a good bit of fun whenever Sim Racing get's too serious or frustrating.

I'm going to skip Ghosts on the current generation and look to get it on PS4.

I rented this from Redbox earlier and I quite liked the campaign. There are some samey moments where you know you've done this or that before but there are also quite a few new things added to the campaign. I enjoyed the first two Modern Warfare campaigns more but I'd put Ghosts above MW3 and both of the Blops games. I'm not including anything before CoD 4 because they're WWII shooters.

Multiplayer is a different story. I've only played 4 or 5 games of team deathmatch so far and I can't say I like it very much. You seem to die way too fast in the game. It seems like I die in one shot while I have to put 5 or 6 in the enemy to take him down. I can't say I really liked any of the maps I've played on either. They aren't terrible or the worst in the series but they just don't stand out to me. I'll play more later, hopefully with some buddies as I was playing solo earlier, but as of now I am glad I've only spent $2 instead of $60.

This will be the first COD I'll skip.
Online reviews tell me I am right doing so.

Got a free copy from my roommate, so I thought I might as well give it a spin. Not overly impressed so far, to be honest. Visually, it clearly ranks below BF4 (which, in turn, ranks below Crysis 3). The gameplay seems entirely uninspiring, aside from the short sequence in space. Frankly, I don't get why these games are so popular.

Oh, and the whole premise of the story seems quite outrageous.

The Dog owning us since World at War.

I was really impressed with COD4 MW so much so it made me buy the ps3 for it despite never having liked FPS, But since that game it seams they have moved away from trying to make great games and just make games to sell to as many screaming kids as possible with their quickscoping and running around all guns blazing and stat padding, Its a shame the original IW team are not still together

Thanks. I have a lot more work to do with thread but I won't have time until tomorrow to finish it up.

Oh no man, thank you! You've done a great job so far, I only wish people who always feel they need to get the OP on any particular subject of interest would do at least half of what you did here and not just post for the sake of posting and being "cool".

OP Updated. My reserved area is for Tips and Tricks and any other helpful/ informative video. I won't update it every day but I may do once a week or once every two weeks. I hope you guys enjoy the thread.

Yeah looking a bit rough that's for sure. Average right now on Metacritic is 74. More and more people I know are just moving away from the COD series. A majority of them have moved onto the Battlefield series. Not that it means anything. Just an observation.

Anymore feedback on the campaign?

I've lost faith in shooter games, I used to buy them for the single player games but these days it seems they try to make the single player a 4 hour interactive movie, instead of a properly replayable decent length gaming experience. Multiplayer for me is always just a bunch of grinding and getting angry when server latency does not go your way (ie you pump 15 bullets into someone and then you get no kill and die because of latency differences).

Modern Warfare 2 single player was the first time I noticed the "short interactive movie" style of game, then I played Battlefield Bad Company 2 and it had a pretty decent single player, lots of replayability and a decent length... So when the next generation came around I was excited for Battlefield 3 only to find it had a pretty crappy short interactive movie style singleplayer, taking it even further than MW2 had done.

So I've not bothered since then, looking at Ghosts it looks much the same in multiplayer, graphics don't look like an improvement over even MW2 but the computer requirements made a big jump and I'm hearing the singleplayer campaign is 4 hours long. Atleast the Crysis series are still trying to make a quality lengthy singleplayer game, though even Crysis 2/3 has moved a little bit into this new direction.

Is it just me who doesn't care for the endless grind of multiplayer FPS?

I don't like COD kind of multiplayer, but for me BF is different with the objectives and team play, I don't play it a lot but when I don't feel like playing any single player game it's always fun

^ I also prefer the BF series and I also prefer the Halo series, always have. Larger maps along with land, water, and air vehicles that can be controlled by the players. Just my preference. COD3 was fun and even had tanks and jeeps that could be driven. WAW also had tanks. WAW was the last COD I truly enjoyed. 4 player co-op campaign, introduction to 4 player co-op zombies, death cards, gore, and so much more. COD WAW was the last good COD game IMO. It doesn't help that they put out a new COD every single year. That principal has ruined a lot of games in the industry this generation. Not all the devs fault, its the players that keep supporting this year after year after year.

I've not played this yet. Already got my copy for PS4 so I can only read the case. But it requires nearly 50GB of HDD space to install! But by the sounds of others in this thread, it'll won't be taking up that space for very long.

I got to check multiplayer out for around 5 rounds tonight...:yuck:How is it that COD's have looked worse as the generation goes on? The colors are washed out (always have), everything is super blurry, and most textures have no detail. It seriously felt like going back to 2007 PS3 games for me. People were hiding across the map and it was hard to distinguish between them and the background. Not impressive at all.

Gameplay wise it's COD. I'm so bored of it after playing every one of them since 3 except WaW and what I experienced didn't make me want to play again. Granted, I only reached level 5 and didn't check out other game modes but I don't plan to. It just felt stale to me. I've moved on to Battlefield 4. Completely different type of shooter but it is more of what I enjoy now, ie teamwork, versus fast twitch gameplay. What is up with the dog though? One bite kill and the thing absorbs more ammo than soldiers? No thanks IW. Glad I borrowed it and didn't spend the money.
