I'd choose a car because of the ride, performance and looks and other factors depending on what the car is for like luggage space and leg room ect. How much Bhp the car makes is of little concern as long as the performance is there. If you solely rate a cars value on it's Bhp/£ or Bhp/$ then you might as well never buy anything over 10k cos once you get above that it all goes downhill and when you get to cars like the Enzo, MC12 and Veyron, well it's a pretty low rate by then.

so..you don't get good performance with the enzo?

you don't have a car that can set a stock record lap time at any track it goes to?

I could have sworn you did.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I am with you! 👍

If I have the money, I know for sure though that I wouldnt pay 427K for that Camaro though. I would rather use the money to for a downpayment on a Porsche Carrera GT! :embarrassed: That Camaro is for serious hardcore american muscle fans only in my opinion. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY!

I never said you didn't get good performance from an Enzo, I said the Bhp/$ value goes down rapidly as car prices increase, by the time you get to cars like the Enzo it's a very low rate, ie the bhp/$ is a lot lower than car like a Toyota Corrolla.

This camaro = 78.6hp/litre

'05 Viper SRT10 = 60.2hp/litre

'05 C6 Z06 = 71.4hp/litre

'06 350Z = 85.7hp/litre

'06 S2000 = 107.7hp/litre (thought I would add it :sly: )

Not bad, but 8.9 litres is a ridiculously large engine. :scared:

You used the newer, 300hp 350Z, didn't you...my "on par with" comment was referring to the 280hp one.

Driftster
it's not BHP/$ that i'm worried about..

it's a combination of price...performance..and engine displacement..

just as a side note...

www.performancesolutionsinc.com

54,000 dollars +(price of car) will get you a 1100HP(935 WheelHP)
will get you a 8.9L (8.89) Viper

427,000 dollars will get you a Camaro that's much rarer and much more valuable than a Viper with a tuning upgrade could ever hope to be.

Oh, and if you wanna talk "oh yeah well this is a better deal," for $140,000 (price of 1100hp Viper as you quoted above) I could get three, maybe four of these. And I'd be much more comfortable, use less fuel, and worry less about theft/vandalism than if I had the aforementioned Viper.

If you check my post I did put the year of the car, in this case '06 (2006).

That M3 is a really good sleeper! 👍 I thought it was an almost stock BMW at first impression from the picture.

I can't take credit for the find -- barryl85 who posted it in the Cars In General forum. :) 👍

@VIPERGTS01: That bit wasn't really a question...more of a rhetorical comment. I indeed noticed the '06. :)

I put the '06 there intentionally so rhetorical comments wouldnt be needed.

Mmmmm Camaro....

It looks great, it'll go pretty damn awesome and it'll sound wicked. Why does someone always have to come up and say "Well, from 8.0L that's crap power"?

Who honestly cares? 700hp is a lot of grunt, no matter who you speak to and which ever method is used to get that power it is still an impresssive number.
This car has obviously been built to be driven and driven hard for that guaranteed 10 second timeslip and so if the motor is unreliable they would be facing questions. I imagine a significant amount of the $427,000 has gone towards making one tough mutha of a motor.

Stop complaining.
👍

Seems Revheadnz is one of the few in this thread who "gets it".

I have a feeling the prospective buyers of these cars will not even be looking at a tuned Viper or Corvette. First of all, those just aren't exclusive enough.

Second, a naturally aspirated engine is not going to suffer from heatsoak, blow head gaskets, or any of that ugly stuff that both the tuners and the bench racers love to ignore.

If tuned correctly that ugly stuff shouldnt be a problem.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

For some reason, I look at this Camaro as a sign of a possible reincarnation of the Camaro. I would like it to happen since I am a Camaro girl! :embarrassed: 👍

It'd also go through transmissions weekly...it'd also have more lag than a GSX with a T04R......I know about the DA and I know about eveythin they do, the only car i'd be interested in is their z4 due to it's stock appearance..everything else looks all ramshackle

Are you trying to tell me that a boosted Viper won't be breaking things left and right? Unless you just drive slow and use it as a daily driver....which, as you know, is impossible to do with the BMWs, so they'll just keep breaking everything...

No one said that..

but point is..a Racingsolutionsinc.com viper makign 1100HP or a hennessey viper with 1000HP will have a warrenty....

A DA motorsports bimmer...won't...And who said you can't do anything to a bimmer?

What board are you reading? are you grasping that hard for something to say?

Allow me to paraphrase:

You: That camaro sucks, this Viper is faster and cheaper
Me: These BMW's are even cheaper, just as fast, and much more comfortable
You: Those BMW's suck and will break stuff all the time
Me: And the Vipers won't break stuff?
You: WTF are you talking about?

So, I don't think my last post came out of nowhere.

As for your warranty claim:

da-motorsport.com
Question: What are warranty conditions?

Answer: 1000 hp M3 turbocharger kit comes with a 2 year warranty on all of the parts. Warranty is void if the product or products have been in an accident, changes and modifications have been attempted or made to the product, the product has been abused, misused, or improperly maintained

Driftster
ok....so it DOESN'T cover the transmission...

so..You'll be breaking parts left and right

Hmm, I guess it doesn't...

Oh well. All that's left is their claim that it won't harm anything...

In any case, you're paying 1/3 to 1/4 the price of the Viper, for a car that's just as fast, which, according to your criticisms of the Camaro, means that they're automatically better.

...do you see what I'm getting at?

To Me that Camaro is better than a Tuned Viper, sure much more expensive, probably not as fast but it's got more character, it looks better barring the wheels which I'm sure arn't a big issue since you can ask them to customise the car for you with a deposit for purchase.

I like Foose's version of the new/old Camaro...
