Can I play GT6 on the PS4??

IMO it should be released for both consoles. I only really play GT and bf, I know bf4 is getting released for both consoles but if GT6 isn't then I won't be buying a ps4 until it is or until GT7 is released. Not releasing it for the ps4 would be a very stupid move.

I literally only play GT and BF. though I did buy the last of us yesterday because it looks TOO good to pass, and I'm not disappointed yet.

You're confused. Like the PS2 and unlike the PS3, the PS4 can play PS1, PS2 and PS3 games. The Xbox One isn't backwards compatible. This isn't some "leaked rumor".

I really doubt they will release a PS4 version.

PS2 - GT3-4
PS3 - GT5-6
PS4 - GT7-8

They will release a PS4 version of GT but I doubt it would be called GT6. Depending on their plans for GT7 and how much effort it takes to port existing code and assets over it is possible that we could see a GT6.5 for PS4 which would basically be a port with all DLC and some additional features but I really expect GT7 to be the first GT title on the PS4

There is nothing to suggest what games that will be. Only if we are really lucky will Sony implement an emulator for PSX and PS2 games like the one the PS3 has.

Is there an emulator on the later PS3 units? I thought they did away with that. If there is one either on the unit or available for download will it work with GT4 ? It so I gotta load it up

No. Officially, the PS3 cannot play PS2 games unless they are specially done up for the PS3 and offered for purchase; or you have an older PS3.

In reality, the PSN Classics work off of a software emulator that has been found by the homebrew community to work (with varying accuracy/playability) with quite a few more games than are actually offered on the PS Store, similar to the one that the 360 uses for original Xbox games.






As far as the PS4 goes, Sony have neither confirmed or denied that it will not have actual PSX and PS2 compatibility; but they have hinted that it will all be done through Gakai instead as PS3 games will.

Kaz said "GT6 will come to PS4 naturally" which could mean that he's either talking about Gaikai or a PS4 version of GT6, either way, i probably won't buy GT6 through Gaikai since i would be paying twice for the game.

You don't pay for a game you already have through Gaikai, due to Playstation Plus policies.
