Can lag and connection problems be fixed?

I learned that lags are result of high ping
If Ping is high it means that broadband exchanger is faulty
U can't change this manually at home but you could call your broadband provider and ask to investigate this

True but there is plenty of GT6 lag

I'm not or at least was not gt 6 online guy, I start my adventure with gt 6 online races in September last year and only driver I saw with lag is widfo :)
I'm more in iracing where usually system will alert you if connection is weak or getting weaker due to high usage of you exchange box ( green one outside )
But if this od common In gt 6 then maybe servers.
Maybe they will use old gt5 servers to improve gt 6 online

who knows?

More support for this question please. The online experience for me is very poor and I have done everything on my side including placing my PS3 outside the DMV AND even changing my ISP! There has to be more to the constant service interruptions than problems at the client end.
I can rarely hold an online session without being booted from the server or having my PS3 freeze. My experience can be confirmed by PD simply having a look at my usage under the PSN ID TORC_Oldtimer. I would also point out that every time my PS3 freezes I lose any credits I have earnt from race results and I estimate these losses to be in the millions of credits, I have had so many sessions fail.
I am a fan of GT since GT2 and been around the GT forums since 2000 or thereabouts. I even have an old granturismo.com teeshirt to prove it. I have every version of the game including all the Prologues etc and some in 3 different regions. Just trying to show I am a serious fan of the game and would be truly grateful if these ongoing server issues could be sorted once and for all.

Thank you for your attention.

Spread the link mate!:)

Going to throw my own personal opinion out their. All i have to point out outhier that i highly think that it's would be the host or players Internet.

@rcb929

This. It's not an issue with the game, it's the person's connection.

It's a combination. Many users that have problems with GT do not have problems with other games. Therefore, there's something about their connection that interacts poorly with the way GT attempts to do online.

or its just a time when events are hosted.
i mean lots of races are going in the evening when 70% of people browsing internet.
the only thing i can check around me at race time is how many routers my wifi can find in my case is 6 ish but if someone lives in a block building might be up to 40 so there must be overloading

Still the quality of online can be improved. Do you agree?

well, yes tbh whole gt 6 should be improved but theres nothing we can do about it.
in forum ( main page ) theres link to ask a question to mr. kazunori, we could bug him with this:)

I raced extensively online with GT5 Prologue for almost 12 months and I don't recall having as many disconnection issues and or lagging of other players. I certainly never experienced these issues where the HUD disappears or other racers disappear, or the results at the end that are displayed bear no relation whatsoever with what really happened. I can't remember even once having my PS3 lock up and issue the 3 beeps warning thing.
Furthermore, I will repeat, I have even changed ISPs to try and solve the problems with no change in my experience (even though my upload speed doubled). I have been a software developer for 20+ years, built more PCs and networks than I care to remember. I think I have at least a sufficient knowledge to ensure that my network hardware etc is working at optimum performance. To continue to maintain that it is ALL to do with the client connections is simply unacceptable and completely out of step with reality.

Preach it lol. Spread the word man.

The first problem is the connection. I have raced someone who has a satellite connection, and they lag so bad that their car will go from last to first (floatin all the way! ;) ) in about two seconds....

Outside of that, I'm not sure about the speed, placement, and capacity of the GT servers.....

A satellite connection will do that in any game. It's a fundamental limitation of a satellite connection.

The thing is, people who have otherwise perfectly functional connections still see issues with GT6.

GT doesn't have servers outside of some basic stuff to point players at each other. In-lobby it's all variations on P2P. GT servers are not involved.

Call me crazy but I always place my router on top of a flat metal pan as it dissipates heat better, and notice some improvements with my connection, being more consistent of-course.

Glitch, bug, whatever, all that matters it can be either fixed or improve by gran turismo
Depends on how you also set up your room; visible damage for instance takes up quite a bit of info. I suggest you turn it off when setting up a room.

Crazy:dopey:
Just joking
One thing for sure, I've never clear my catch system like everybody keep saying and nothing ever happen.

Clearing Cache just improves your frame rate. You have to restart your ps3 and any problems will most likely be fixed temporary. This works only if you have a big problem; can't see someone on track, after you will be fine till you exit a lobby.
