Yes. press up on the d-pad. However, I use a G27 racing wheel and that is my default setting. I cannot speak for anyone using a controller(controller users please confirm). If you want to turn off only friends' line but retain your personal ghost, I will research this

The ghost/lines are all on or all of, no getting rid of the lines without your ghost disappearing. One option would be to be faster than your friends.

either that or do the seasonals before they do. I have a few aliens on my list and or people who use SRF
I dont mind my ghost disappearing, will try that if I can find the option (DS3 user)

This feature (friends lines) should have a separate on off option in the menu. I'd like to have just one ghost of my choice from top 10, and follow its lines. Friends lines is a cool feature, but can be very very distracting.

I've sometimes had a glitch that turned off friends' lines. My own ghostline is still there, but not friends'. In the recent Ascary TT my friend's line was visible on lap one, but never started lap two and never returned later. I had together out of the TT and restart it. Then ok again.
This may suggest that it is somehow possible.
(Today has been especially glitchy - the above happened and the setting adjustment acces icon was completely missing. When I started the trial I got some kind of an error message warning sign. I had to restart the game to get back to normal).

I created a separate ID without friends to run the seasonals till I get where I want. Then do the seasonal with my primary player with Ghost off or on as I choose. Once the muscle mapping/timing is learned, there is just getting it done for the primary ID.

I was some 116,xxx rank in the Mercedes Benz AMG VGT TT, with a best time of 2:06:9xx.
After turning off the racing lines of the various friends that I could see, I could concentrate better & lowered my time to 2:03:729 putting me 11,xxx rank.

I don't mind the friends lines showing except they are all almost always ahead of me

But that is the problem, their names and lines block the view ahead.
And I don't know how to turn off individual players, only way would be to drop them from friends list I think. I find not all my friends show every race, just the ones around my race time. In the rocket, after a tune, I was constantly in the lead, now 3rd on my friends list, but again never saw Cargo who is a couple of sec's in front of my time.
You're still there Hall, I see you 'round every now and then, sometimes in front, sometimes behind.
