The installation is quite straight forward, both base side and wheel side. Work slowly and follow the steps. A simple torque wrench is useful and you can find them for not much on Amazon

Or you could find a tech at a local phone repair shop to help. Its a pretty quick installation
Yeah but having to do the electrical disconnect on the base then DO NOT LET GO OF THE CONNECTOR!!! or it will go back down into the base, then twisting it around to go back into the base, all of that scares the hell out of me. And if you have two wheel rims you have to put a wheel side on each one?
 
I was wondering the other day what might have happened to TJ. Has anyone here heard any news of him since the final acquisition?
Any statements ?

You need a QR for every wheel, and a QR shaft for the base.

Installing the shaft is a little tricky, but only needs to be done once.
 
What difference can you tell?
Difference? to what? I have only used QR2, but have hundreds of good use with it across many sims, it's as rock solid as my IRL cars and it allows me to switch wheels in about a second, and my time is very valuable, I can't potentially lose a race because the pit stop took too long.

Ok so you started with the QR2. I thought you might have upgraded.
 
QR1 was suffering from the fairly big tolerances so a lot of them slipped a bit on the shaft while turning. I always had to use the lock screw to avoid that. And with that it's no longer a Quick release. If you are not having that issues then it should be fine to stay.
If you have multiple rims so you'd need to upgrade multiple to QR2 then it most likely wouldn't make any sense financially.

As of now I just have the Formula V2.5 and a Universal Hub. Lately I've been hearing more snapping and popping from the V2 but I don't know if it's normal or I'm paying more attention to it after hearing that's one of the reasons to switch to QR2.

You shouldn't have any sounds, certainly not snapping or popping! You should narrow down what that's from and make sure you don't have some loose screws. I mostly use my V2.5X and it's silent and I use an aliexpress square red QR2 on that one.

And for what makes sense financially, I would say it would not only be irrational and a failure of fiduciary responsibility to waste time as well as to not color coordinate outfits with QR2 connections. The worst financial mistake you can make is one that results in lost happiness. That's not to say that many don't waste resources resulting in misery, but missing out on an investment, especially one of great pleasure, is extra displeasing. Spend everything on that which enriches and brings great returns. Spend nothing on that which wastes time and your soul happiness.

I have ordered the QR2 bundle with two wheel sides. Since I have a CSL DD I won't have to worry with that pigtail connection. I had difficulty last night switching rims.
 
more topical…on the Fanatec Forum a poster labeled customer support has been responding to some of the suffering cases promising responses. Whether its been helpful unknown but seems like Corsair has added a bit of resource there
 
Hi guys, I am currently using the CSL pedals with load cell and the plan was to upgrade one day. Currently I am only playing GT7, means I am forced to stick to Fanatec. Now the inverted V3s are on sale which are actually 7 years old or something like that…

Question 1: just get them or is there any hint by Corsair for some V4 high end pedals? I wouldn’t mind spending more if they would release within next year a new set.

Question 2: if I get them, should I get the dampener as well? Read mixed reviews

In my opinion the V2s are better than the V3s, as the brake uses a much more modern and serviceable design. That plus a throttle damper mod from Etsy and you’re golden.
 
I got the V3i at BF price 2 years back and really like the inverted setup. At that price I think they are fairly priced. You will likely want the Brake performance kit though as the stock setup is a bit too soft. It comes w one damper, which is good for the stock setup, but if you get the BPK, you could move it to the throttle where its really helps. Once you get it tuned its fine, a bit more fiddly to work on though

ah that was very helpful. I was about to settle on a simple damper mod for my CSL throttle but now you kept me thinking again :-) It would just be so annoying if next year some new V4 come out.

So I can remove the preinstalled damper of the brake and put it to the clutch? No need to order the damper kit then? BPK is a must, I got that impression already. Makes it 370€

Yes its the same hole pattern and everything. You’ll need to swap the vibe motor bracket as well. Just DL the pdf for the damper from the fanatec site and it should have the info. V3 manual will as well. Also the elastomer install is easier if you don’t use their method - just pivot up and out of the way
