For some reason my DS4 Controller wont recognize that I press R2 fully. It only accelerates at half!
If I switch back to the X button or analog-sticks I wont have the problem. Same if I switch my controller...I tested it with 3 different ones at home. All of them only accelerate at half-throttle :odd:

Anyone here with some tips or a real solution? Would be great! Because I dont know whats wrong or how to fix it... (Controller seems to be fine! It only occurs in GTS)

Button broken. Had the same problem with another game where it only accelerated halfway. The buttons aren't just on/off, there are a couple of stages to them

Solution is new or repaired pad

*edit

Ok I just read the whole thing after seeing the initial problem and thinking "I KNOW THAT PROBLEM!"... maybe it's a certain gen of pads that cause it. I had this issue on FFXV, switched pads to one I bought after sale and it worked, bought a new pad and that worked. The R2 button worked fine on shooters etc but wouldn't press fully on FFXV. I'd imagine it's the pad that's the problem

The only time I see something like this is when another button is stuck or just not fully retracted. It primarily happens with L2 or R2.

I am on my fourth ds4. Buy a new one every 8 months or so it seems, for this exact reason. I play mostly racing games and the rubber or whatever inside seems to breakdown

All of the triggers on the 3 controllers are worn. You will find that you have to push really really hard to get maximum throttle. You need a new controller.

ive got a friend who is only getting half throttle on his t500 wheel on gt sport but its fine on project 2 ?? something not right since the update...

But it doesn't affect me on ANY other game!?
Even Project cars works with R2 :ill:

It doesn't always cause problems with every game. I had problems in some games and not others but it was the controller that was the issue as when I got a new one it was fine with all games.

Same here. One of my two pads is broken with R2. We just need an option to increase sensibility ingame, like in PC2. That would solve the problem. Seems to affect many people, read that before.

If it isn't the game then it's 100% to do with the silicone grommets wearing down, happened to me a couple years back playing Driveclub, pretty cheap to replace.

Hi People!

i have the save problem now... and only in GT Sport happens!!!
I use my finger power to reach full throttle!! "only in GT Sport"

I´ll try to clean up.

bmxmitch
did you solve the problem??

thanks!

^This. Had the same this happen to my ds4 but instead of changing the grommets I just inserted a piece of card board. You may have to play a little with the thickness. Of course @MikaMP413 solution is a better one if you don't want the hassle of experimentation.

If you have a pc you can check if your controller is the problem with this website: http://html5gamepad.com/ It shows values when the buttons are pressed.

I found out that i had one controller where the r2 didn't work 100% so i don't use it for GT sport anymore, but it is still fine for other games.

Happened to me, full press was registering only about 90%.
It seems to be a design fault with the DS4 and is actually quite common.

I had found this bug happened to me, I figured instead of using X or square, I would use R2 and L2 to moderate throttle and braking. But it seems as if it didn't even go halfway. It didn't even accelerate. I probably went at 1/100 of full throttle.
