lapped the ring on the seasonal event, got my time and cried.
then I wondered...somebody cares to share setups for this brick of a car?
don't get along with nascar that well.
thank you all

you have to love this site

What are you talking about. I never recommended anyone's specific setup to you, I just pointed you to a list of setups to choose from. Not sure what you meant by that statement.

I don't put a lot of effort into the Seasonals, just enough to beat everyone on my friends list, so I ran it last night for 10 or 15 laps. Slightly modified my basic road course tune (2:07 at Spa online) to loosen her up a bit, and I think I got to 47:xx and 180 ish ranking...something like that. A 46 something is there if you can get that back end swinging and in control...lol. That's not my strongpoint.

I may have another go at it tonight but either way I'll post my setup tonight for anyone to use. Keep in mind, this setup is specifically for the Seasonal, was done in about 15 minutes, and may or may not work anywhere else, didn't try it anywhere else. I use a DFGT and all aids were off, except ABS=1. Got me into the top 200 so it's gotta be at least decent.

If you give it a spin, let me know if it works for you and any specific feedback, good or bad, is appreciated. If memory serves, this is the time trial where the top of the leaderboard is crowded with guys using the active steering driving aid. It's available so use it if you like, it may be good for up to a one second advantage, I just can't bring myself to do it, I feel like I'm cheating. Not sure if it affects the tune at all but if it does, let me know.

I used this setup with the 2011 Jeff Gordon car, but I would assume it will work with any car, although I didn't test it of course.

Aero Max
LSD 5/10/5
Ride Height 0/0
Springs 19.5/14.3
Front Susp 7/6/4
Rear Susp 6/5/6

Camber 2.2/0.8
Toe -.10/+.30
Brakes 6/7

Best lap was 47.65 so far for 150ish place, no aids but ABS=1

Key to fast laps for me was controlling the throttle and wheelspin, using as much track as possible while maintaining legal laps and taking her up near the rev limit in each gear as that's where the power is in a Nascar. I have my transmission set up for three gears only, using 1,2 and 3. I can't for the life of me figure out how I got it to where it is it went through so many adjustments, but I can tell you it maxes out third gear coming up to the final set of corners, and first is fairly tall, tall enough to take several corners.

Good luck if anyone uses it, let me know if it works for you.

I know you didn't. Meant it as a compliment to the site and the kindness of pointing a newbie like me to the right direction. And it still surprises me how global is the reach of gtplanet
No sarcasm, no irony.
Sorry if I offended you in any way

No, problem, glad I could be of assistance.
