What's the best gear ratios for Gr.4 High speed ring?

I am trying to do the gr.4 event on the high speed ring on the World races in Asia. No matter how hard I try I cannot come 1st. I have been doing time trials for hours trying to get decent lap times but I always get around 1:19. I seen on Youtube someone getting 1:17 and he said that wasn't very good. I even bought a new Corvette just for this race which is suppose to be a faster & better car but it didn't make a huge amount of difference as far as lap times go. Slightly better but still not as good as it needs to be.
I don't have a huge amount of knowledge when it comes to tuning gears. I kind of get it but I can't look at a track and gauge the numbers perfectly. Anyone on here that can do that? The race event is limited to 630pp and has to be a race car as well. If you would be a goat and let me know what you think the best gear numbers are for this event it would be much appreciated. Also any tips to improving lap times? I already got all the assists turned off 🙂

Apologies if this is the wrong sub forum. Didn't know where else to throw it.

Yh I think I need to add a little bit of top speed to the gears since I bought nos cos I am hitting the red line on a few of the laps. I use a bit on the straight and then also hit it after the chicanes as well 🙂
Yh I hope they improve the tuning a bit more by adding more detailed graphs or mite be a long shot but if they added a dino that would be awesome! They are adding Sophy that companion AI thing so sounds like they are working on huge updates so no reason an improvement on tuning is unrealistic to think of 🤔

Yh that would be awesome! Send him on over and il give it a whirl. Its always fun to try out new cars and stuff 😁

usually pass the field before the end of the first corner i use Nos through 5th most of the time and let 6th do its thing

Replay of a 1.13.7xx on the final lap is now shared in GT7. Just search for dabz343, or u can send a friend request instead.

RH, no nitrous and just the lsd & gears tune.
Where do I search for you? I found a YouTube channel with that name but its got GT sport videos uploaded 3 years ago 😁

Search in the GT7 game, it's not on youtube. In the 'showcase' section on the world map. Fill out the search options like below and mine should come up.

Oh yh I found it. Strange you can't search PSN names. I had to fill everything out lol. How long you play GT before you managed to get corners near perfect? 😛 I always find I over break. I did try using the break indicator but that thing is garbage and better off without it. It always tells you to break way to early or not enough. I been doing bits of circuit experience as well but that only teaches you in 1 car and ofc every car is different. I suppose to best way to learn is to not be scared of sliding out.

The braking zones that can be activated for the routes are suitable for the respective car and speed, which means that if you brake correctly in this zone you can certainly make the curve with your car if you steer sensibly.
Why does everyone always think that the aids only get in the way.. I don't understand that.. why isn't it learned the other way round?
First get a feeling for what is right when and then push the boundaries further and further.
Once you have acquired a "wrong" way of driving, it becomes much more difficult to learn the "right" way to drive.

only on the "Nordschleife" ... there my recommendation is very, very slowly and you can get a feeling for the track, once you have internalized it, then you can start to work on it. And then the braking zones can help again, although some "braking zones" on the ring are not real braking zones.

Yh I tried breaking zones but my driving is better without them. I end up to reliant on the zones rather then myself. Then on the odd occasion they don't work very well with certain tracks and they only show up on corners that don't require breaking but de-accelaration doesn't show up so me being over reliant on the breaking zone to show up I just fly off the track thinking I can power through the corner 😂
What I do now is if I am struggling with a track then il hop on time trials and then play that for a while until I improve my lap times a decent amount and then hop back on the race and try again.

I started with GTS, on a T150 and didn't like it at all...the physics were so different than reality. It took some time and when I got decent, I moved on the the TGT and that helped immensely...but the physics were still very synthetic and I had to adjust to what the game rewarded -- and this took many, many miles.

With GT7, the physics are improved, but still synthetic. Guess by now, I have learned to drive in 2 distinct modes. If you are just starting out, there are simple approached to gaining speed...also bad habits to get rid of and avoid as another said, they are hard to break.

This race is a pretty decent money-maker. Nearly $100k for 6 minutes of work, not bad. You start off pretty late in the grid, but if you slipstream you can pull ahead to third or so before the first braking zone. The AI always lays off the accelerator through the first bend, which you're able to take flat out. They're also sometimes late on the power out of the last chicane, so you can take them on the inside into the tunnel. Or slipstream them down the tunnel into the final curve. If you can't make the pass, just try and stay in their tow until you get an opportunity.

1:17.9 is my best time in the WRX, ECU somewhere in the low-to-mid-90's, and some light aero and ride height tuning. Basically just fiddling with numbers to reach the PP, no real method behind the tuning because I'm still learning.
