Car Mags

yea the grm website isnt the all fancy because the magazine isnt run by some large company that only cars aobut making money..... it works though, has project updates, a good message board, and a place to buy backissues.

grm is more for the racer type. i like that for their projects they dont go blow $10k on mods on a car, they are realistic, just like their readers are. they have original, available, fun used cars as projects, along with new cars that are of interest to people.

ah, Ill have to look for grassroots. I read some a while ago and was very good. however, I cant find it anymore. naither that or hot rod, wich is a very cool mag, not featuring cars that look good, but that perform, are ingeniously built, and really deliver. no rod and custom for me. I like hot rod's engineering view.

You guys ever heard of autoweek? Is it any good? Cause Im looking at this site right now. And I can get a subscription for one year for 18 dollars I think, but I get 52 issues..... I dunno if thats a good or a bad thing... 52 issues is a lot for a year... thats like 3 issues a month, so I was thinking how thick they would be.... What do you guys think? Worth it? And how much do you guys pay for your subscriptions? At the same site, I can subscribe to C&D for 2 years for 15.95, and Road and Track for a year for 9.95.

P.S- have you guys ever heard of Auto World? Cause I can get a 1 year subscription for 3.45. Pretty cheap, but would it just be a waste of money?

those subscriptions sound very cheap. there are 52 weeks in a year so 52 copies would be 4 a month, 18 dollars sounds like a steal, just make sure they contain more than 5 pages per copy! :D

magazines like car and top gear cost about 3-4 pounds here the last time i checked so a year's subscription would be what $50?

Autoweek is good. They aren't as long as Car and Driver ofcourse, but basically, stack 4 together and it's about the same size as C&D. Also you get the news sooner and stuff...though I don't have a subscription, I just read it at my hair cut place.

I haven't bought a car mag in years, although I used to buy.

Car, Topgear, Redline (ugh some of the cars were awfull but they had some good reviews and features) and Fast Ford (You gotta have fast ford :P ).

I've given up on buying any magazines.

I think you're mistaking it with Super Street... :P SCC's the only US based mag i can read on a monthly basis. It's a lot more professional than the other mags in that category of "import/racing" mags. I'd say it's 2nd to GRM (Grassroots Motorsports) in terms of technicallity and professionnalism, but GRM isn't available in newsstands.

I check out R&T and C&D once in a while, but that's all. If i want to read something about new cars, i pick up Car or EVO.

I agree on that. the other import mags that get over here to mexico are just rice. SCC is actually interesting and has good articles and good editorial style. its like reading hot rod with a honda instead of something flamed.
