After reading and watching many tutorials about re skinning cars in AC I'm still having major problems that to be honest make me feel really stupid.
Thanks to some Gimp tutorials I now know about layers, I can use masks to make backgrounds transparent, I can move and resize objects. Simple stuff.
The problem is that all the templates are different. I'm trying to paint the Lotus GTC and when I make a new layer to paint on if the Occlusion layer is visible it hides all of my painting. Where as on other templates it just puts on shadows etc. Why is this? Why does that occlusion layer also seem to cover over the base colour layers with white?
Why have seperate layers for different colours? Why not just paint the car in one layer?
How to I warp things to make words etc follow the curvature of the body panel?
I think most other things I can somewhat get from the guide on Assetto Corsa forums, I just wish I was good at this stuff.
