Car tuning for license practicing

Let's start with an example:
b license use an S2000, a civic typeR, a Skyline R32 etc..
If I want to purchase these cars for license practicing and to get used to how the car react when using the driving force wheel, do I have to tune the cars, or do the license tests use untuned cars ?
tia for any suggestion or tip.

As far as I know, the license tests use untuned cars. PAL users can turn off the drivers aids, but NTSC users can't.

I wouldn't bother practicing outside the license tests, anyway. Why take the risk of changing some condition you don't know about? Just practice by running the tests themselves.

Someone with an X-Port or SharkPort could extract the car from the file and list it here.

I just that some cars use arcade tire or rally tire on tarmac (Impreza Proto @ Deep Forest). Arcade tires cannot be bought though...

At a second thought, your suggestion of not wasting time with a "license test simulation" makes sense.

But it was unknown to me that the NTSC version has no options to turn driving aids off. What puzzles me is that in the options menu of the license test that option is selectable. Does it mean that it's a gimmick ? Or is the change so subtle that it's useless ?

Oh, wait, I always get this wrong. I think we CAN turn them off for the Licenses, but definitely not for theTime Trials. Sorry!

D.A.s cannot be turned off for the licences tests. It depends on each test, some have the Aids on, some have 'em off. Anyway, most of the tests are without any Aids. Think it's the same as the PAL version.

Mistral

Thanks for the info, It'll avoid me losing precious time fiddling with the driving aids.
I knew there was something fishy going on because I didn't notice any noticeable variation in my licenses time when changing their settings.

What puzzles me too is that some ib licenses times improve with manual transmission but ib 8 ( skyline at mountain track ) seems an exception.
