Career winter nonsense

Glad to hear it's getting patched, the snow driving is really the only major damper on an otherwise great career mode.

I raced a audi r8 at lemanns at night during a blizzard. Car seemed fine enough. Are you guys using wheels. Might be difficult to catch it from sliding in time using a pad.

You have to be light on the throttle, and light on the steering. I doubt you can hold a steering wheel straight while driving on ice irl, you have to transfer that technique to a pad.

Did you have the season setting to Winter or Snow? Because the problem is only there when you have it set to Snow, when set to Winter there isn't a problem.
 
I'm not one to attack developers because bringing games together isn't an easy process but it completely baffles me how these issues got through any amount of testing. SMS did a great job improving PC1 over time through patches and I'm sure we'll get something similar this time around but this seems like such a basic issue with one of their big new features that I can't see how it got out the door.

It makes me even more frustrated with the decision to double down on fixed weather for career events. It would be easier to ignore and wait for a fix if it were possible to restart an event with re-rolled weather conditions.

I was never a fan of the whole winter/snow idea of PCars 2. It was ok for me as long as it was optional. But now, its not. I have reached the Euro GT3 german trophy and the game puts me on ice in Oschersleben. With a 911 GT3 R. Its nonsense, not only because in reality, no one would do a GT3 race in deepest winter. The car is undrivable on the snowy surface, even with winter tyres.

I was afraid of this: SMS sacrifying realism just for showing off their snow nonsense. Snow with rallye cars is fine but GT3...? How are we supposed to finish these events?!

I actually agree with you. I think that was a silly and ill thought out inclusion.

Why not include an option to choose?

I'm betting you there are people who love it who will be just as dissappointed as the whiners in this thread.

PS I prefer my carreers whitout but know of more people who would like it a bit more dafty and thus snow included.

How wil it be preceived by them that a bit of whine on a forum would make you guys change your mind?

I am so happy to see that someone feels the same way about this.
I was so disappointed and angry to to see my favorite racing category
was in the snow.

As already suggested, there should be an option to do this for slightly crazy people but by default each motorsport should be limited to weather the race would actually run with.
If it ever managed to snow during a GT3 race it would be cancelled due to sanity.

Ok so I'm a whiner , well as the saying goes the squeaky wheel gets the oil .
This is a racing sim , Replicating GT3 racing and other race series very closely albeit a few rules and regs which is for a different thread , I and many others buy it for its authenticity as it's the closest most of us will get to a real GT3 so throwing snowy race conditions into the career path kind of derails the credibility.
I love how we can choose a race if we wish with an Indy car or whatever on a snowy track but it should be optional and thankfully the greater powers that be agree with this sentiment.
 
Yeah snow is fine in some groups, but they should definitely keep it realistic. Ice is over doing it.

Why? Well you're beeing selfish imo. You could ask for the option. What would makr everyone happy. But no that's not good enough. You like realism so everyone has to like the game like you.

Don't you see how your proposal would make other people feel the same way? So yes demanding the removal imo is whining.


Edit: if the option is included I would not race gt3 in snow. So I am one if you guys preferring authenticity just for your information.

Edit2: Also I think you read whining a'd felt attacked. Have you actually read my 2 cents on the issue maybe we could have a discussion over our opinions about the game rather then what we label certain behavior.

Yep, it's all T10's fault that the snow races in Pcars 2 are unplayable. :lol:. You going to blame all the bugs and glitches on T10 too? Oh wait, it probably is their fault, you see FM7 is coming out next week, if it wasn't maybe SMS could of delayed the game a month(or six) or so to fix some of the issues. :odd:

I blame Turn 10 for having to race LMPs on the narrow twisty cobbles of Positano, which was a million times worse than any bit of snow...

Why are we still arguing about this when they already said it's likely to be removed in the next patch? It's over, move on, who cares what some stranger on the internet thinks.

Some of these strangers are friends of mine! They would like it still included.

So if you guys can be squeecky I shall be the devils advocate. I donlt want to force a style of play onto you. Yet you guys agree it should just not be there. Why is that a good solution? Again give the option!

But the Murican said it's very likely being removed in the next patch whether you want it or I don't want it, so why waste time discussing it and arguing about it?

'arguing' (yeah not much arguing as everyone in the thread disliked it) so I'll argue for the option over the removal.

And I still can't see why the option isn't the best solutiin.

Erm I'm not sure I was demanding anything , Did I say SMS I demand you remove this feature ? Nope .
Yes have it as an option I agree if that's what others want but not forced and creating options like that I imagine creates a shed load of work .
Anyway Im not getting into an argument so peace out !

It has snowy races in it and snow is broken. Also dry slick tyres are not working forcing to drive with wet tyres to heat the compound. Wet races are fine. Try yourself. I tried.

The same goes for Ginetta gt5 slicks and Clio Cup slicks. Tried all. Clearly something wrong.

Now i don't if is the AI not affected by conditions or players tyres being bugged.

Ginetta junior is fine expect for the last snowy race. 9 races out of 10 Can be done easily. Nice series.

What was the issue with last snowy race at Brands Hatch?

Wow,looks like il have to wait for the patch to continue career! I thought all this wouldve been tested before...tyres is always a grey area in Pcars it seems!!

Tyres not working for the player or Ai not being affected.

What are the chances of the snow being taken out of career for the GT3 And Formula races ?

It's daft and I'm being polite , that idea should of been squashed by someone on the team before it left the draft board.

I went to the Touring Cars a few years back at Donington , actually probably 7 ! But if I'd of got in the bath in all my clothes I wouldn't of been any wetter that day . We left after the first race and the daftest thing was that we actually had use of Ron Haslams box but instead ventured out and got drowned .
